Folder showing, but still getting Index of / with localhost folder listing. Now I know I'm doing something wrong.
Watched that video at least a few times before this (lol!) - on the UAP site.

Oh OK. Well in your Apache config edit the directory to use public folder. So should be something like C:/wamp/htdocs/public
httpd.conf
#
# DocumentRoot: The directory out of which you will serve your
# documents. By default, all requests are taken from this directory, but
# symbolic links and aliases may be used to point to other locations.
#
DocumentRoot "c:/wamp/localwebsite/public/"

#
# Each directory to which Apache has access can be configured with respect
# to which services and features are allowed and/or disabled in that
# directory (and its subdirectories).
#
# First, we configure the "default" to be a very restrictive set of
# features.
#
<Directory />
    AllowOverride none
    Require all denied
</Directory>

#
# Note that from this point forward you must specifically allow
# particular features to be enabled - so if something's not working as
# you might expect, make sure that you have specifically enabled it
# below.
#

<Directory "c:/wamp/localwebsite/public/">
    #
    # Possible values for the Options directive are "None", "All",
    # or any combination of:
    # Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks SymLinksifOwnerMatch ExecCGI MultiViews
    #
    # Note that "MultiViews" must be named *explicitly* --- "Options All"
    # doesn't give it to you.
    #
    # The Options directive is both complicated and important. Please see
    # http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/core.html#options
    # for more information.
    #
    Options ALL

    #
    # AllowOverride controls what directives may be placed in .htaccess files.
    # It can be "All", "None", or any combination of the keywords:
    #   AllowOverride FileInfo AuthConfig Limit
    #
    AllowOverride all

    #
    # Controls who can get stuff from this server.
    #

#   onlineoffline tag - don't remove
    Require all granted

        order allow,deny
        allow from all
</Directory>

That is what my httpd.conf file looks like

@Promodrone_twitter
I got that. I now see where it was all going wrong for me. I was opting to take the files in the public folder and put them in the localhost folder. Gonna be a long night. You take care @davarravad, and thanks for all the help. Try to have yourself a wknd, OK (lol!)? Thanks again.
DaVaR
@davarravad
No prob. I enjoy helping out. Motivates me to do more with UAP. Thanks for not giving up.

@marcohald
Hi everybody I installed UAP and created a account. When i try to log in it says success but in the header it still shows login
DaVaR
@davarravad
@marcohald Which version of UAP 4 are you using?
If you are using http://localhost/ this error seems to be common. Try using the server
ip address. For example http://192.168.0.55/
marcohald
@marcohald
@davarravad i use UserApplePie-v4-4.0.0-Beta-3.zip. I use it on an shared hosting so I can't connect via IP
DaVaR
@davarravad
Try clearing your browser cookies. Might be a conflict with an old cookie.
marcohald
@marcohald
already tried that. I also tried another browser
DaVaR
@davarravad
I have not tested on a shared host yet. I will get on and take a look. Hopefully we can get this working.
Open up your phpMyAdmin...
DaVaR
@davarravad
oh wait... nvm.. in your Config.php file. Is the SITE_URL set to http://php-marcohald97169375.codeanyapp.com/ ?
marcohald
@marcohald
@davarravad sorry for late reply the Site URL is correct and i get a cookie after login with the name PHPSESSID
DaVaR
@davarravad
@marcohald I will want to try and create a demo site on the same host if possible that way I can play with the settings to see if I can troubleshoot it. What is the site to sign up for?
marcohald
@marcohald
@davarravad its https://codeanywhere.com/
i use the php container on ubuntu 14.04
DaVaR
@davarravad
I am in the process of signing up. Email is being a little slow, but will let you know when I start setting it up.
marcohald
@marcohald
Ok Cool. Is there a log where i should look at ? I have seen the table uap4_sessions. Is the Session bound to the IP Address ?
DaVaR
@davarravad
Should be bound to the domain.
marcohald
@marcohald
ok is there anything i can test ?
DaVaR
@davarravad
Check in the mysql database under uap4_activitylog
see if there is anything there...
marcohald
@marcohald
Just "Activation successful. Key Entry deleted." after registration and "User logged in" after a login
After the Login the user gets also shown on Member Online Page
rename the Cookie.php and then name that one Cookie.php
That file removes the domain part of the cookie. I wonder if that will work
marcohald
@marcohald
davarravad: That works
DaVaR
@davarravad
ah sweet
marcohald
@marcohald
the cookie uap4_auth_session was missing before
DaVaR
@davarravad
The only thing I changed was the domain variable. lol
marcohald
@marcohald
i will look into it what value the variables have maybe i find something
DaVaR
@davarravad
What is in your error log for private messages. I got an error when I tried to open them.
marcohald
@marcohald
where is the Log File that you mean ?
DaVaR
@davarravad
in the errors folder within the root dir
marcohald
@marcohald
require_once(/home/cabox/workspace/uapc/app/Plugins/Messages/Views/messages_sidebar.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/cabox/workspace/uapc/app/System/Load.php on line 114
the views folder is in lowercase and the require_once use a Capital letter
DaVaR
@davarravad
ah. I bet that is it lol
marcohald
@marcohald
@davarravad is it possible to access the SITE_URL in Cookie.php. I tested it with an static domain name without port and that worked so it would be the easiest to set the domain to SITE_URL
DaVaR
@davarravad
It should. I think it's technically loaded after the config file.
