sudo mv * /usr/bin/? No.
I did this: sudo cp -r ~/Downloads/codium /usr/share/
Someone can tell me if that was stupid.

@bittner
What distro are you on? If it's one of the common distros use their package manager (see https://vscodium.com/ ➜ "Use a Package Manager"). Otherwise, /opt/codium is usually a good place, and place a symlink to the binary in /usr/local/bin, which usually makes codium available in your shell's $PATH.

@bittner

When I start codium I get notified about a new releaes.

Here again, you should let your package manage take care of this.
If you are on Ubuntu and install Codium via snap the update will happen automatically (hence you'll rarely see this message, and if you do only for a short time).
If you use a regular package manager run your package manager to pull down and install the updates once you see this message. Note that it might take overnight before the update is actually packaged up by the automatic process the projects depending on this project have in place.

Hi. I just opened the issue ... but probably should ask the question here.
I'm looking for a way to disable Extensions from Activity Bar - I would like to create a build with few extensions - and disable TAB with all Extensions / Marketplace -is it possible... Where I should start to look /debug the Extension (other TABs) adding Mechanism - to Activity Bar and View Menu?

Despite editing my product.json, VSCodium can't find any extensions

I am a scala developer new to vscodium. Clicking on test lens on any Test code fails with Error: Could not find or load main class sbt.ForkMain . I do not use sbt to build/test. What is the cause of this error ? I use mill as project build tool.

Anybody else seen this? No characters in dialogue boxes, just blank placeholders. Maybe missing fonts?
I have a screenshot. I've just starting codium, using v1.56 on arm86. But the version message is

Hi everybody :)

I have been experiencing a problem since the update, I have not accepted at the marketplace (extension).

Do you know how to solve the problem ?

I am under Manjaro 21.1.0 (PAHVO)
Kernel 5.12.16-1

@JeromeBourgeois Hi, this is an issue we are working on. In the meantimes, there is a workaround: https://github.com/VSCodium/vscodium/issues/746#issuecomment-881049046

@JeromeBourgeois
@daiyam Hi :) , It's not an emergency for me because in the meantime I install the modules on the command line, but if it's an ongoing problem I understand better then, thanks for your feedback.

Hey! I don't quite get the difference between VSCodium and code-oss builds, apart from the marketplace. If I am using code-oss and disable all telemetry, is it the same thing as VSCodium?

Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing great. I would like to say a special thank you to the developers of VSCodium: You guys are amazing and I really value your contribution of improving the privacy in the Dev community. I've been trying to compile 1.59.0 version of VSCode using your build_linux.sh script and I've faced an annoying issue when running the script: Could not detect abi for version 13.1.7 and runtime electron. Updating "node-abi" might help resolve the issue if it is a new release of electron. Has anyone had this issue before? If so, what's the fix? Thank you!

@akionsight
