Ok, I've read and played for 2 more days. I got Vundle installed and Vim finally recognizes it. However, when I do a PluginInstall , I get two errors, E116, ( List Index Out of Range:0 ) and E684 (Invalid Arguments for Function Vundle#Installation#Run ). Anyone have any idea what the problem is?? (other than me!!)

If you don't share you vimrc, people won't be able to help you.
usually the readme have all the information you need to get started with vundle

Here's the _vimrc. I don't know why the black background shows up below.
" Setting some decent VIM settings for programming
set ai " set auto-indenting on for programming
set showmatch " automatically show matching brackets. works like it does in bbedit.
set vb " turn on the "visual bell" - which is much quieter than the "audio blink"
set ruler " show the cursor position all the time
set laststatus=2 " make the last line where the status is two lines deep so you can see status always
set backspace=indent, eol, start " make that backspace key work the way it should
set nocompatible " vi compatible is LAME
colorscheme blue
set background=dark " Use colours that work well on a dark background (Console is usually black)
set number
set showmode " show the current mode
syntax on " turn syntax highlighting on by default
" Show EOL type and last modified timestamp, right after the filename
set statusline=%<%F%h%m%r\ [%{&ff}]\ (%{strftime(\"%H:%M\ %d/%m/%Y\",getftime(expand(\"%:p\")))})%=%l,%c%V\ %P
set rtp+=~/vim/vim74,~/vim/vim74/vimfiles~/vim/vim74/vimfiles/after,~/vim/vim74/vimfiles/bundle,~/vim/autoload
" Only do this part when compiled with support for autocommands.

My THANKS to all who answered! I have corrected the problem with the "rtp" and Vundle now works properly! Now, I'm back to learning and enjoying Vim!

I'm late but yeah, you are missing the set rtp+=~/.vim/bundle/Vundle.vim
