    Anyone here knows docker?
    Marcos Cáceres
    @marcoscaceres
    not I
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    Discourse is now running off an image I got from Robin, and everything is wrapped in layers of Docker
    which I wanted to learn, but now actually need to get things done
    Marcos Cáceres
    @marcoscaceres
    @yoavweiss thanks for setting it up
    @yoavweiss I'm going offline for the next 30 hours or so
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    sure. Robin have done most of the work

    I don’t know Docker so can’t be much help
    Stuart P. Bentley
    @stuartpb
    I know Docker, what do you need?
    (please don't say the data was made part of the image please don't say the data was made part of the image)
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    very cool! :)
    Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Thanks :) Better than the specifiction I think.
    Is there no branding at all at this point?
    I thought there was some kind of a logo?
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    the logo is kinda ripped off from webplatform.org
    we need to see if we want to keep it, or come up with something better
    Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Ah right.
    Don't know if we have any logo designers in the house

    stuartpb: I'm trying to mess around with a container on a machine I inherited
    Stuart P. Bentley
    @stuartpb
    @yoavweiss: what do you want to do with it?
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    @stuartpb: The container is running a Web server. I want to change its config.
    Stuart P. Bentley
    @stuartpb
    How are you starting the container?
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    @stevefaulkner: I'm not sure I follow your latest comment on discourse
    If the feature is not Web exposed (so devs shouldn't care about it beyond the regular a11y stuff), there's no room for a spec. We can write a document with rough guidelines on what the feature should do, but it's something that implementor can pick and choose from
    I'm hopeful that if this proves to be useful, everyone will steal ideas from everyone (just like there's no spec for the URL bar, but it showed significant evolution over the years, and everyone are doing more or less the same)
    Steve Faulkner
    @stevefaulkner
    @yoavweiss right, it would not be for devs, but implementers, the HTML spec amongst others includes extensive advice to browser implementers on how things could work for aspects of UI and interaction,for example all of the default CSS display for elements, which are are not requirements just suggestions.
    Stuart P. Bentley
    @stuartpb
    Yeah, and it already has lots of recommendations around outlining
    Which, it seems to me, is all this would be, keyboard navigation of the outline
    Steve Faulkner
    @stevefaulkner
    @stuartpb no, it would not be that
    @stuartpb and the recommendations don't provide any advice on possible interaction methods
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    @stevefaulkner: OK, cool!
    Stuart P. Bentley
    @stuartpb
    Yeah, and the HTML spec doesn't say anything about spacebar navigating down a page, or backspace going back through history, but they all do that anyway. Not everything has to be part of an implementation-agnostic spec
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    would you be interested in writing such a doc, assuming browsers are interested in implementing?
    Stuart P. Bentley
    @stuartpb
    I mean, spec whatever you want, but I don't get how this isn't just outlining
    Steve Faulkner
    @stevefaulkner
    @yoavweiss yeah, thats what i suggested on discourse, I will put together a doc for discussion
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    @stuartpb: on a different note, I'd love some Docker advice, if you have time :)
    Stuart P. Bentley
    @stuartpb
    @yoavweiss sure, what's the problem
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    I have this Discourse server, which runs a Docker container
    I'm trying to figure out what exactly it does and where does nginx runs
    Stuart P. Bentley
    @stuartpb
    So Discourse provides a VM that runs Docker inside of it, behind Nginx?
    Steve Faulkner
    @stevefaulkner
    @stuartpb for a start navigation of landmarks is nothing to do with the outline
    Stuart P. Bentley
    @stuartpb
    What does the output of docker ps look like?
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    yeah, I'm running a virtual server with docker inside and nginx seems to be the server
    Stuart P. Bentley
    @stuartpb
    I know Discourse is Rails
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    I inherited that server image from Robin Berjon, which shortly after, left civilization
    Stuart P. Bentley
    @stuartpb
    so it's probably running that with Nginx as a proxy for stuff like failover
    Yoav Weiss
    @yoavweiss
    Rails is not a Web server AFAIK, it still needs a real server to... serve
    I know Django uses WSGI as the interface to the server
