@sideshowbarker : Awesome! I'd upvote your answer if I could (for some reason my SO credit gives me no rights on other StackExchange sites)

@yoavweiss Did you log in with the same credentials you use on SO? Do you have at least 100 reputation on SO?
Yoav Weiss
@yoavweiss
I think I did
OpenID is a mess when you have accounts with all the providers and 5 gmails

Can anyone tell me whether WICG/Discourse is configured to allow email replies to thread comments?
Yoav Weiss
@yoavweiss
it should be
LjWatson: that's not the case?
@LjWatson ^^
Léonie Watson
@LJWatson
@yoavweiss I can't reply via email. Get bounces with SMTP errors (even when using different SMTP servers). Trying to work out possible causes, and discovered email replies need to be actively enabled within Discourse - so thought I'd check.

@stuartpb
Oh, yeah, I thought you were asking about the forum emailing you when a thread is replied to.
I think this might have been one of the things broken in the move to discourse.wicg.io
Thanks. I see it on the website. Just need to wait for the interwebs to send it through as email.

Yoav Weiss
@yoavweiss
Yeah, I'm waiting for the email too

@LJWatson
Time to get another pot of tea... it can take a while :)

@LJWatson
Hmm. I see the original and your reply, but still can't reply myself. Looks like gandi.net is not relaying the smtp request properly - although my email account doesn't use gandi.
Will do. My domain does use gandi, so suspect some crossing of the streams even though my email is handled elsewhere.
Yoav Weiss
@yoavweiss
wicg.io's DNS is on Gandi...
Léonie Watson
@LJWatson
Aha. I've just forwarded you two bounces (each using a different smtp).
Stuart P. Bentley
@stuartpb
I don't know if this was due to a DNS change or what, but the HTTPS cert for discourse.wicg.io is coping up as invalid authority on my phone
Yoav Weiss
@yoavweiss
but I fixed that already... :/

@stuartpb
I like how Gitter's affordances for last-message editing aren't displayed on mobile, but regex substitutions still work
Yoav Weiss
@yoavweiss
@LjWatson : What phone? What browser?
FWIW, it works on my machine :)
Léonie Watson
@LJWatson
Neither. Outlook 2016 on Windows 10.
Yoav Weiss
@yoavweiss
Good gawd
Léonie Watson
@LJWatson
What?
Stuart P. Bentley
@stuartpb
Did you mean to ask me, about the HTTPS certificate issue?
Yoav Weiss
@yoavweiss
@stuartpb Yeah, got all mixed up
@LjWatson sorry about that. (and the "Good gawd" was about having no way to test windows+outlook, and thinking that you're getting certs errors from outlook)
Stuart P. Bentley
@stuartpb
Latest Chrome, Nexus 6
Yoav Weiss
@yoavweiss
Latest == 45 ?
Stuart P. Bentley
@stuartpb
45.0.2454.94
Yoav Weiss
@yoavweiss
hmm
same as mine, but I don't get any cert errors
what does the cert error say?
@LjWatson : Changed the DNS zone's MX records. Now need to wait 3 hours for that to kick in
Léonie Watson
@LJWatson
@yoavweiss the only info/error I get is the bounced emails. No Outlook cert errors. I've just installed Thunderbird and tried, with similar effect - although Thunderbird won't let me send (says address previously hardbounced).
