    @dengara_gitlab Having just started writing my own diagnostics and realising just how useful they can be I wouldn't object to offering them unconditionally with the base proviso that they are not over egged, by which I mean that they are not throwing warnings when in reality a message would be perfectly adequate. That's not to say that there shouldn't be warnings or indeed errors, just that they should not be for trivialities. And of course the next obvious question , will you be accompanying them with code fixes?
    Dennis
    @dengara_gitlab
    @kashiash yes, Beta after May 18th
    @domsinclair nice to hear - thanks for your opinion. BTW, today I had a customer who hit 3 of errors that could be detected by our built-in diagnostics in one ticket, which also affected the normal behavior of his app. Auto-fixes is a part of my long-term vision for this thing - for now we need to beef it up (20 more diagnostics are on our TODO list).

    I shared our thoughts on the future of our XPO ORM Data Model Designer in https://supportcenter.devexpress.com/ticket/details/t1084770/moving-a-table-in-xpo-diagram-causes-visual-studio-2022-to-hang

    Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately, this is not the first and last time in the history of the XPO ORM Data Model Designer when we are dependent on the behavior of the Microsoft Modeling SDK (DSL tools, the design surface, panels, etc.), which is outside of our control.

    Having carefully analyzed the team efforts to support new Visual Studio versions and react to breaking changes in the IDE architecture (extension loading, .NET Core, etc.), we are considering dropping the XPO ORM Data Model Designer support with v22.2. Another reason is the low performance of the tooling when dozens of classes with dozens of properties are displayed in the diagram.

    We want to recommend the Code-First approach to our customers instead. To generate persistent classes from an existing database, we want to provide a console tool or Item Template/Wizard as it is now.

    What do you think about this?

    kashiash
    @kashiash
    I use code first only. Even if I start new app on legacy database, i prefer to create classes manually than import all stuff and fight with many issues with keys relations etc.

    @dengara_gitlab Any news about beta 22.1 ?
    Dennis
    @dengara_gitlab
    The Beta v22.1 was labeled 2 days ago, currently we are finalizing the Veracode testing and docs.
    You can see what to expect from XAF v22.1 in https://community.devexpress.com/blogs/xaf/archive/2022/02/28/xaf-2022-roadmap-cross-platform-net-app-ui-and-api-services.aspx (I updated it 3-4 weeks ago after a code freeze). Let me know if you have any questions on the upcoming capabilities.

    Is possible to get this beta version for internal testing, especially for Unit & Functional Test Infrastructure and Blazor DataGrid enchances?
    Dennis
    @dengara_gitlab
    Every active Universal subscriber will get beta access automatically soon - thanks for your patience.

    Has anyone here tried to retrieve a PersistentAlias field in the XAF Security Api? It does not appear in the response body. And when I explicitly include it I get the error: "The query specified in the URI is not valid. Could not find a property named 'MyPersistentAlias' on type 'MyType'.",

    hello, does anyone know when 22.2 eap will be released?
    kashiash
    @kashiash
    I guess in 2 months
    XAF's Web API reporting, audit trail, media file Preview support may be shown this month or so as well. We also have XAF Blazor inline editing in the grid and new accordion navigation ready to be shown.

    And what about 22.2 beta?
    Dennis
    @dengara_gitlab
    2 weeks before the release or so
    What are you looking to test or use specifically?
    Gustavo Marzioni
    @vimarx
    I have a couple of projects still using xaf webform and waiting for a better UI experience/functionality (detailview and grid) before updating

    @dengara_gitlab will popups be resizable in 22.2? And what about notifications module?
    Dennis

    I hope you will like v22.2 enhancements to the list and detail view: https://www.devexpress.com/subscriptions/new-2022-2.xml#xaf

    Thanks Dennis,

    I would like to inform you quickly about 2 issues, there is a problem in the localization of enums in excel export, and the showspinbutton property of dxspinedit does not work on both the filterrow side and the detailview side.

    Is there any news on the 2023 roadmap? We will be starting a new project soon. XAF.Blazor is still missing some important features for us; I hope to get an idea if it's worth waiting for 2023.1 or that we should stick with WebForms for the time being.
    Isa Tahiri
    @isatahiri
    @birgerj what are the important missing features on your side?
    On our side Notification module becomes more more important . And seems not a easy one to implement by ourselves.
    Dennis
    @dengara_gitlab
    @birgerj , this group is not very active as compared to XAF on Facebook, so we are discussing roadmap in https://www.facebook.com/DevExpress.XAF/posts/pfbid025pM2p6txKaL8ooE3uNWXQFeuwZjZp8UHPTAgVzEADKmPFy3puLfvB27zjqgrTPqBl . I support Isa's questions - it would be nice to know about your expectations (these important features) in the first place - thanks. XAF's roadmap will hopefully be published soon - see my private message.
    Birger Jansen
    @birgerj
    Sory, I didn't know the discussion was more active on FB. I'll take a look there!
