From https://developers.google.com/season-of-docs/docs/timeline the deadline is May 17 for organisations to hire a technical writer. Updates will be posted here soon on the process.
@AyanSinhaMahapatra Yes, I have read that. But, there have been cases where we have found out late that some of the organizations have already hired in advance or very early. So, for this, I just wanted to confirm with you. :)
I am also a participant; I can answer some of your doubts if okay @pombredanne @AyanSinhaMahapatra. This is the org's accepted proposal I assume! you can just follow the statement of interest format posted on GSoD 2021.
Also, there are a couple of projects listed on the website. So, on what can we start working? Since the number of technical writers to be hired is not mentioned as of now if I am not wrong or I have missed anything?
Only one project was accepted so you'll only need to consider that one. ScanCode.io related project. Good luck
Can someone please help me and say how to submit the GSoD final submission of Statement of Interest . Is there any google form or mail id to forward to.
Emails are included in the following link: https://github.com/nexB/aboutcode/wiki/GSoD-Technical-Writer-Selection-Process#statement-of-interest
@hyounes4560 it's AoE as it's not mentioned. https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/aoe
I just saw this; Thank you. I submitted it on Sunday to avoid any time conflicts.
All: I am glad to announce that we have selected @hyounes4560 for our GSoD 2021 project.
We are grateful of all the proposals we have received and that's always a difficult choice as there were several really excellent proposals.
Note also that we are setting up a separate tech writer program for possibly one or two tech writers. This will not be as ambitious as GSoD, but we will be reaching out to the candidates that submitted excellent proposals to submit there too.
