I am also a participant; I can answer some of your doubts if okay @pombredanne @AyanSinhaMahapatra. This is the org's accepted proposal I assume! you can just follow the statement of interest format posted on GSoD 2021.

Only one project was accepted so you'll only need to consider that one. ScanCode.io related project. Good luck

Hello everyone, I'm Kaushambi Sharma, a B.Tech undergrad majoring in Information Technology at Rajkiya Engineering College, Banda. One of my areas of academic interest has been data science. I am a GSoD aspirant from India. Last year too I applied but was unable to get selected due to the heavy competition. This year because of the severe Covid spread in India, I was unable to reach you earlier. Please reply back if the technical writer role is already fixed . I would really be honoured to make a proposal for your organization on the given project if there is still time for me to apply. Any feedback at all will be most welcome.

@aaqibqadeer I appreciate the enthusiasm but we are looking for experienced technical writers here :) ... in a nutshell you are eligible to apply, not having the experience would mean you chance to be accepted are nil.

All: I am glad to announce that we have selected @hyounes4560 for our GSoD 2021 project.
We are grateful of all the proposals we have received and that's always a difficult choice as there were several really excellent proposals.

Note also that we are setting up a separate tech writer program for possibly one or two tech writers. This will not be as ambitious as GSoD, but we will be reaching out to the candidates that submitted excellent proposals to submit there too.
