Hi, @slatemates . You will need a LMS and import adapt course as SCORM file.

@taylortom thanks for the info... i have only the following code in blockModel.js

define(function(require) {

var AdaptModel = require('coreModels/adaptModel');

var BlockModel = AdaptModel.extend({
    _parent:'articles',
    _siblings:'blocks',
    _children: 'components'
});

return BlockModel;

});

should i add the following code alone in the blockModel.js
whitelistAttributes: [
'_id',
'_courseId',
'_parentId',
'_layoutOptions',
'_type',
'_sortOrder',
'_classes',
'_isOptional',
'_isAvailable',
'body',
'displayTitle',
'title',
'_extensions',
'themeSettings',
'_onScreen'
]

Hi,

i've installed the adapt authoring tool and reached to the login page but i didn't have any password that time. Then I've updated the password in mongo shell as the forum said.

Now the situation is I've user name, password with failedLoginCount 0 but not able to log in the localhost:5000 adapt learning.

Please resolve the issue as I am stuck here very badly.

Apologies @Muthughilli_twitter, you’ll probably want to look in frontend/src/core/editor/page/models/editorBlockModel.js (assuming you’re on the master branch)
@ErSachinShri_twitter how did you install the tool?
You set the super user’s credentials during the install process

Which schema did you edit again?

adapt/adapt_authoring/plugins/content/block/model.schema
for the block, do we have schema files anywhere else?
Tom Taylor
@taylortom
Sep 21 2017 14:17
nope, just in there
have you rebuilt the frontend code since amending the whitelist?

Sep 21 2017 14:30
yes.. i have restarted the node server
Tom Taylor
@taylortom
Sep 21 2017 14:32
restarting the server will only pick up backend changes, have you re-run the grunt process?

i dont get it @taylortom . how to do that?

Sep 21 2017 14:43
You’ll need to run grunt build for testing, and grunt build:prod when you’re running in a production environment

will it affect any courses in the adapt authoring tool?
i have around 10 courses in the Laptop.

I’d suggest setting up a seperate dev install of the tool if you’re using your current instance for production
Depending on your changes, you will likely break existing courses

oh... trying to have background image for the block is this much tedious process?
Tom Taylor
@taylortom
Sep 21 2017 14:56
Unfortunately as it’s not something that’s currently supported in the tool, yes
You could alternatively knock something together in a framework theme
But would be less flexible. Depends on your aims I suppose.

oh... ok... i was breaking my head for this past 2 days. :P ok... Now i will try the easier method of keeping a class name for the block and set the background image in the less file
yeah, i had this idea @taylortom. but i thought to learn new things. :)

no probs
I’d always suggest you set up a dev enviroment if you’re developing new stuff. You’re on very dodgy ground if you’re working on something you need for production

ok.. @taylortom can i get a link for setting up the dev environment

You just need to run through the install instructions again, but in a different place to your production install. Also make sure not to use the same database when you’re prompted for the database name
