    oh, I guess I'd need your french .json originals as well
    equally I'm not sure anyone's tried this with an RTL language, that could be causing it problems too
    it's interesting that it says 'Encoding detected as UTF-8 languagefiles/ar/blocks.csv' - should there be 'languagefiles' there??
    I think all the .csv files have to be in src/course/ar/
    oh yes there should, sorry
    shows how long it has been since i have done this!

    @clementpr if you move the replace directive a bit earlier in the command, does that help?
    $ grunt translate:import --replace --targetLang=ar --masterLang=fr --format=csv --csvDelimiter=;
    which version of the framework are you using? i assume latest as before?
    could you zip up your course and languagefiles folders and send them over?

    @olivermartinfoster
    it may be that the import is failing but that it's not throwing an error (i rewrote the translate task recently), so i'd like to test with arabic + french as you have it
    i have found that --csvDelimiter=; doesn't work in my terminal (git bash), it must be --csvDelimiter=";" to parse properly but without the speechmarks it throw an import error which i'd have expected you to mention

    @olivermartinfoster
    in import --targetLang=ar is both the destination folder course/ar and the source folder languagefiles/ar, --masterLang=fr represents the folder course/fr from which the course/arshould first be constructed before importing the data
    you will almost certainly need the code from this pr https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_framework/pull/2722/files which i've just merged into the master branch

    Hi @olivermartinfoster and @moloko. Thank you very much for your help and your feedback. As I need to translate the course in english too, I tried to create the english version. Everything seems to be good. So after, I tried again to create the Arabic version but I have the same result.
    If I use grunt translate:import --replace --targetLang=en --masterLang=fr --format=csv --csvDelimiter=;

    I have an error as "No changed were found, target and import are identical.

    If I use --csvDelimiter=";" (with quote), I have the same message @olivermartinfost

    Error : Error processing CSVV files: Error: Invaliding Closing Quotde...

    I use the branch 2722. I can share a link with the french course and Arabic translation but if you prefer, I can share the english version in some days.

    @olivermartinfoster
    I don't need to read it, it's just for testing, so the French and Arabic are fine.

    Hi everyone! I just have a short question: is localization of the Authoring Tool UI itself possible? i.e. can the language of the tool itself (not the created content) be changed?
    tomgreenfield
    @tomgreenfield
    hi @magiffm, some of the tool's ui elements have been set up to be localised but:
    1. there isn't a way to choose a language from the interface
    2. any pages to do with configuring the course, e.g. project settings and the like, aren't localisable unless you modify the framework and every plugin it uses

    @ruchi1584
    Hi everyone! I'm new to this tool so can you guide me how to export text for translation? Also is there any way I can export translated text back?
    if you're working with a professional translation company you might find they're fine with working directly in the json

    Hi, I am working with Adapt Ver 5.6.1 and I noticed a javascript error on framework when I change the language on menu page. LangPicker model calls Adapt.mapByIdon restoreLocation method but I don't see the implementation on Framework code. Temporarily I fix this issue by checking the location id in Adapt.data._byAdaptID(Adapt4 has a mapping of ids <-> type).
    Matt Leathes
    @moloko
    @muthuselvan86 would you mind logging an issue for this? https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_framework/issues/new
    Matt Leathes
    @moloko
    @muthuselvan86 I can replicate that issue in v5.6.1 but not in v5.7.0 so some change in v5.7.0 must have fixed it; I'm just not sure what
    Matt Leathes
    @moloko
    actually I might be wrong about that, let me do some more testing
    Matt Leathes
    @moloko
    yeah seems its not work in v5.7.0 either, just in a slightly different way!

    Hi @moloko , I noticed 2 other issue with language picker, (FW 5.6.1)
    1) When I change the language, its not taking me to previous location(Navigate To Element option).
    2) After I change the language and press on homebutton it doesn't take me to menu.

    I made a small change to languagePickerModel.js (setTrackedData method) 'menuView:ready' -> 'pageView:ready' did fix both the issues.

    sounds a little like this issue? adaptlearning/adapt_framework#2907
    Muthu selvan ramalingam
    @muthuselvan86
    Sure! I will test now and let you know my findings..
    Matt Leathes
    @moloko
    thank you!

    Your fix totally works! resolved 2 of my above problems

    @moloko
    excellent! and thanks for confirming, if you don't mind - could you comment '+1' on the pull request? adaptlearning/adapt_framework#2909
    thank you!

    Hi @moloko, I noticed another issue with languagePicker, when I retake the assessment(tryagain option) and change the language actually resetting the assessment completion state to false( Even though I have resetType as soft). Here is the steps to reproduce,
    1) complete the assessment who has settings resetType as soft.
    2) Try to re-take the assessment(With tryAgain). (Here the assessment completions is still true, that is expected)
    3) Now change it to different language and check the assessment completion state turned to false. (ideally it should be true - as the reset type is soft it shouldn't change the completion state).
    I am still analyzing the root cause, please let me know if you have any suggestion. Thank You.
    Matt Leathes
    @moloko
    I think that's probably just an oversight/bug
    Muthu selvan ramalingam
    @muthuselvan86
    Yea I agree! I don't notice any other issue with this for now.

    enable to import export.json file for localization
    Matt Leathes
    @moloko
    check that none of the files have been saved in UTF-8 + BOM format
    should be just UTF-8 i.e. no 'byte order mark'
    Amn5600
    @Amn5600
    @moloko i have dubble check with json file but still same problem.
    Matt Leathes
    @moloko
    the most likely explanation for the error is that there will be something wrong with one of the .json files you are trying to import
