Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
any samples of files doing so?
Carton32
@Carton32

FILESEXTRAPATHS_prepend := "${THISDIR}/files:"

SPLASH_IMAGES = " file://psplash-mysplash.png;outsuffix=default"
ALTERNATIVE_PRIORITY_psplash-default[psplash] = "999"
INITSCRIPT_PARAMS = "start 5 S . stop 20 0 1 6 ."

I don't know if the syntax is 100% correct (in particular with the init parameters) but it works

This is in my own layer in a recipes-core/psplash/psplash_%.bbappend
and the image is in recipes-core/psplash/files/
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
@Carton32 Awesome! Thanks
Is that a full-screen splash?
Carton32
@Carton32
yes
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
Any weird things related to resolution or format of the png?
Carton32
@Carton32
The resolution of my PNG is 427x427px with a transparent background
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
And I'm guessing the image then is centered?
Carton32
@Carton32
yes
Try with a "dummy" picture to see the result
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
yeah. But having a bit more info upfront helps a lot! Thanks!
Carton32
@Carton32
ok

@thesillywhat
@Carton32 I am now... Or If you want we can do this tomorrow on Saturday... I am on EST but I should be available all day
@agherzan Can't we merge the psplash repo with this repo
Carton32
@Carton32
I will try but I usually do this at work. Remind me tomorrow and if I'm still at home, it's ok
thesillywhat
@thesillywhat
okay..
thesillywhat
@thesillywhat
@Carton32 for the psplash dont we have to use a script to generate a header file first?
Carton32
@Carton32
The .bbappend works as is for me
Of course, with the picture in /files/ folder
thesillywhat
@thesillywhat
has anyone use meta-raspberrypi with raspberrypi-cm3 connected to a LCDS screen
thesillywhat
@thesillywhat
Is there a way to add new files under overlay?
Is that something we define in local.conf?
thesillywhat
@thesillywhat
core-image-base does not have dpi device tree overlay and I need it to get my lvds working. How do I add a new device tree overlay. @agherzan can you point me towards some documentation that shows me how to do this?
Carton32
@Carton32
I can explain how to add an overlay too if nobody can help you before
Tomorrow*
thesillywhat
@thesillywhat
@agherzan explained where I can add the overlay.
But thanks I appreciate the help

Hello, I have 32GB SD card with an image.
  1. I saw that I was using on 2GB and not the whole 32GB of the SD card.
    So I expanded the filesystem to now use the entire 32 GB.
  2. When I run the fdisk -l /dev/mmcblk0 command I now see a 29.8 GB of data on the /dev/mmcblk0p2
  3. But when I run df -h. I do not see that space under any file system
    Why is that. Even though its mounted
Am i missing something here
So my question here is how do I include the 29.8GB of data in my file system
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
you resized the partition, but not the filesystem
you'll need something like resize2fs
(for ext2, ext3, ext4)
Carton32
@Carton32
You can try this script : https://pastebin.com/ehWRE5Rj with this recipe : https://pastebin.com/g6kLUkzh . It was working for me until .... I don't know but it's not launching anymore at first boot. Maybe I have to change the INITSCRIPT_PARAMS

@kraj
@thesillywhat add meta-96boards to your layers and add IMAGE_INSTALL += "96boards-tools"
or use yoe distro which takes care of such quirks
and btw. we have moved to using matrix for IM needs so join the room
Carton32
@Carton32
I will move too. Ty
I didn't know 96-boards also. I will check
thesillywhat
@thesillywhat
@mterwoord I tried using resize2fs but it gave me an error stating that command not found. So I was trying to look for an alternative
@kraj okay, Thanks I will move on to that room
@Carton32 thanks for the script I will try it out
thesillywhat
@thesillywhat
@mterwoord resize2fs do I have separately download it or is it part of layer?
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
i'm guessing its a recipe you could include
was just meaning to give you a basic clue that you need an extra tool for it
Carton32
@Carton32
The script I provided you is using resize2fs
I m using it since years
Resize2fs is in the RDEPENDS of the recipe
Don t have to care about
