I haven't tested that in a while now.
I know people work with yocto cfg files maybe that works better for you.

You don't need an entire defconfig. But only fragments.

that page says i should put my configuration in the SRC_URI of the bblayers.conf file

Not in bblayers. But in a path available in bblayers.
So yes, you would use a custom layer for this.
Where you'd put the bbappends as needed.

@agherzan Other q: my raspberry images work great, but each boot they get a different ip from the dhcp server. Is that something i can configure?
(read something about the image then using the deviceid in the dhcp request, instead of the hardware mac)
