I got a question: I am not sure how bind.apply works. I understand what bind and apply do individually but bind.apply is confusing me.
Jordan Harband
@ljharb
ok so any .apply is the same Function.prototype.apply
and any .bind is the same Function.prototype.bind
so, bind.apply(f, ...a) is the same as f.bind(...a), but without relying on f having the right 1st bind` property go f
mm2079
@mm2079
Holly s**t that makes sense
Thank you.
Spent 2 hours just to figure this out

@ljharb need help on one more thing. when one constructor is inheriting from another constructor we write superConstructor.call( this, args ). I know thats not how its done in es6 but I am trying to understand within the context of es5.
What goes on behind this superContructor.call( this, args )?

hemendrak68
@hemendrak68
any tutorial on fcm notification on nodejs server side?
Jordan Harband
@ljharb
@mm2079 there's no need to know that, because superConstructor.call(this, args) won't work in modern JS, and more importantly, did not always work in ES5
@hemendrak68 this channel is for the airbnb JS style guide; not for general JS help.
@soyong20161205 this isn't a job board; it's a repo for the airbnb JS style guide.
@onlyserenity congrats on creating a project, but please don't spam it in unrelated channels.

hello
const addPepperoniToPizza = arr => {
let result = arr.map((ele) => {
        if (arr.indexOf(ele.includes("pepperoni"))) {
            arr.push("pepperoni")
        }
        return ele;
    })
    return result;
}
console.log(addPepperoniToPizza(['onions', 'olives', 'pineapple']));
Any one here..
Jordan Harband
@ljharb
yes, but this is the repo for airbnb's javascript style guide
do you have a question?
(that code is bad btw because you're mutating arr, and worse, you're doing it while you're iterating over it.
)

Does anyone have the guide
?
Btw, what does airbnb have to do with JS?
I thought airbnb was an airline 🙄
Do you guys like write codes for that airline using JS?
Jordan Harband
@ljharb
@Bot-Mr-Tomtastic this guide is how airbnb writes and recommends writing js
and no, its not an airline
Mr. Tomtastic Hoffmann
@Bot-Mr-Tomtastic
Haha ok

@ljharb
Hello, I've created a PR for one of the recent issues around javascript/react styleguide (bind & arrow functions)
airbnb/javascript#2014 please take a look when you have time
Anton Honcharuk
@Ensive
Thank you for merging my PR. I see that build with last commit is errored on Travis CI. Anything I can help with?
Jordan Harband
@ljharb
@ensive don't worry about errors; in particular if you deleted the branch, the build will error because there's nothing to check out
Anton Honcharuk
@Ensive
