Hello! I deal with akka streams, I try to mock the repository interface, make an in memory implementation. I have a collection of case classes case class Command(UUID: UUID, var done: Boolean), it is constantly updated, it is a source, I need to use akka streams to constantly search for done = = false in it and change to true. I tried different methods, such as Source.repeat. On the Internet, too, I did not find such a thing, I will be glad of your advice, thank you

@arvkonstantin: I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do, but it sounds like you are working 'with' akka rather than 'on' akka, right? in that case the akka/akka room might be more suitable. What 'repository interface' are you mocking?

@raboof:matrix.org Yes, you're right, I messed up the chat, but it looks like I found what I need - https://developer.lightbend.com/start/?group=akka&project=akka-samples-persistence-scala

hi all, I am trying akka microservices tutorial and I am having troubles installing akka cloud platform on gke, here in point 1 https://developer.lightbend.com/docs/akka-platform-guide/deployment/gcp-install.html#_deploy_from_command_line
"Generate a license key and save it to the disk (e.g. license.yaml)." Can you point me to the direction what is license.yaml referring to? Its not mentioned anywhere before, neither is there any link

I hope to get around and release Alpakka 3.0.1 tomorrow. akka/alpakka#2682

Hello, for some time I was missing a possibility to process messages in akka stream in parallel but only within a "partition". I couldn't find a solution for my problem so I wrote a custom operator: https://github.com/jaceksokol/akka-stream-map-async-partition. My question is if it possible to achieve a similar processing pipeline using existing operators/graph dsl?
Johan Andrén
@johanandren
Not entirely sure I when your custom operator is expected to emit, but I think it is something in the neighbourhood of groupBy(somenumber ,extractPartition).mapAsync(parallelism).mergeSubstreams()

I spoke to Arnout about providing a Akka actor helper library for Kotlin. It would be a thin lib that improves Akka actors Java api for Kotlin developers. Make it feel native Kotlin if possible.
I understood from him that a community maintained repo would be the best approach.
I think I'll start one under my personal github account. And when ready perhaps it can be under the Akka org.
I'll create an issue under that repo to describe the approach, the goals and non goals. So you can weigh in if you want.

Btw here's a little experiment what Akka actors could look like using Kotlin coroutine channels. https://github.com/joost-de-vries/akka-kotlin/blob/master/src/main/kotlin/akka/kotlin/classic/example4/channelInbox.kt
That won't be part of the lib. But still fun to have a look at. I recommend opening it in IntelliJ since that presents suspend calls and implicit this types more clearly.

@joost-de-vries cool, thanks for making this Kotlin support library.

@fredfp
@patriknw Hello, about akka/akka#30362 do you know which specific loggers you'd like? I have no way to export logs so if the volume is not too big that's doable, otherwise I could only offer a pairing session to share logs live.

Hi there!
I was reading the docs about Sink.combine and found out the Scala example was not printed. Submitted a fix for it: akka/akka#30433

Thanks! Don't worry about the failure: we're trying out GH Actions and are seeing some instabilities there

it can't be re-triggered with the PLS BUILD right?
raboof
@raboof:matrix.org

no the PLS BUILD is only picked up by Jenkins - I can rebuild from the GHA UI but not sure it's worth it yet ;)
Josep Prat
@jlprat
oh no worries! I was exercising my muscle memory :)
but I realized as you said that github actions won't pick it

I want to contribute Akka project. So picked akka/akka#29776 this issue for first step. But it is hard to me for first time. Who can help about it?

Hi @ennru we use Alpakka in our company and we came up with a couple of cornercases where no mocks really replicate the real behavior. We created this issue akka/alpakka#2743 . Any thoughts?

@ennru @johanandren Can you hold of making a release until akka/alpakka#2746 is merged? I just realized right now that ListMultipartUploadResultCommonPrefixes is in fact a common datastructure that I want to reuse in another upcoming future PR (and since this breaks binary compatibility I want to merge it before a release)
Johan Andrén
@johanandren
Merged now :+1:

@mdedetrich
@johanandren @ennru I am not sure what the plan is for the next release schedule for Alpakka but at least from my end akka/alpakka#2749 and akka/alpakka#2747 are the last remaining PR's for what I have been working on
Matthew de Detrich
@mdedetrich
@johanandren @ennru Apologies but I created a regression with the akka/alpakka#2747 PR (it turns out that some fields in the XML output are optional instead of mandatory if you do list bucket versions on a bucket that doesn't have versioning). I will fix this with a future PR and add a test for this
Johan Andrén
@johanandren
Alright, thanks for catching and the heads up.
Matthew de Detrich
@mdedetrich
PR for the fix is at akka/alpakka#2751, seems like I went down some S3 rabbit hole with this latest feature. Let me know if anything is needed, PR should be self descriptive.
Also updated akka/alpakka#2750 with my findings
Matthew de Detrich
@mdedetrich
And created akka/alpakka#2752 to be on the safe side
Matthew de Detrich
@mdedetrich
@johanandren Good news, the latest PR's that got merged solved all of the issues on my side (i.e. there aren't any problems anymore with clearing buckets), thanks for your help!

@johanandren
Great to hear, thank you for the work with the improvements! :)

@ennru @johanandren I just created akka/alpakka#2760, let me know what your thoughts are (turns out the current project I am working on is a lot more complicated than anticipated :sweat_smile: )
