This room is dedicated to discussions between Akka committers for coordinating the development process—for general questions and discussions around the usage of Akka please head over to akka/akka. For more info see: http://bit.ly/akka-gitter
Hi Team ! I started contributing in open source projects, but this will be my first one , yesterday I picked an issue and forked the repo. but now I dont have any idea that how can I run the repo on my local, so can anyone help me with the next steps. I will be very thankful to you
Hi hAkkers! I just have a quick question: what is the status of JDK17? Is it safe to use with Akka right now? I think I have seen at least one open ticket about it, but I wanted to ask here. I think some of the naughty tricks here and there internally might no longer work? I rather ask you before learning the issues in runtime :D
Is there any reason in the Javadsl which the signature is java.util.List and some is java.lang.Iterable?Maybe keep it as java.util.List is far more better as immutable.Seq.asJava itself return a java.util.List and which provides more methods than java.lang.Iterable
eg: flatMapPrefix which passes in an java.lang.Iterable but groupedWithin gives a java.util.List
I think the value akka passes out should be more specific type and the value user return to akka should be more generic.
So I went ahead and removed the hardcoded lightbend readiness levels from sbt-paradox-project-info and made them configurable along with a sample sbt-plugin for specific use with Lightbend/Akka projects, see lightbend/sbt-paradox-project-info#34 for more info
Hi @ennru I just sent the signed CCLA for Aiven. Do you know if there is any special action we need to do when we have a new contributor?
@jlprat CCLA means you are contribute using work time?
@hepin1989 yes, I manage the OSPO (Open Source Program Office) at Aiven, and one of the main goals is to contribute upstream to the projects we use (or depend on)
(I do contribute also when time permits :joy: )

I did some looking and there doesn't appear to be a "akka-3" branch where changes that are breaking can be put? Does this even exist? For context I want to do some changes which are both source and binary compatibility breaking
