@Aaronontheweb @rogeralsing also posted road to 1.0 on r/csharp/ so have a look there

@Aaronontheweb don't understand why InitialHeartbeatSpec has that controller node to blackhole the nodes. None of the other specs do that. Has that got anything to do with the barrier coordinator issue? Remoting changes look good. Lot of work!

@smalldave I don't know either, to be honest :\
it does seem weird
my guess is that if the controller blackholes itself then it stops receiving all of the control messages it needs to ensures that barriers get passed

@Aaronontheweb other tests would have that problem too wouldn't they? barrier messages go on their own back channel don't they?

I'm not sure :\
i don't know the internals of the Remote.TestKit well enough to answer

btw, I ported the JoinSeedNodeSpec
looks like AwaitMembersUp times out on that stuff
based on the log messages it looks like there are some issues with connections being gated during the seed join process
usually happens when two nodes attempt to make an outbound connection to eachother at the same time
I'm going to clone the latest JVM Akka today and watch what happens during that test
want to see if the way we handle that (inside Akka.Remote) is different

Ok. Their test runner is in separate repo I think. On train so bit difficult to check.

good to know - have you been able to get theirs running before? Trying to decide how many more cups of coffee I need before the attempt :p
@rogeralsing anything I should change before I merge in #634 ?

Worked fine. Difficulty was my ignorance of JVM tooling. Don't remember logging being great but probably didn't configure it properly. You probably only need to be lightly caffeinated :)
