    also has config saying that some actors should run in Remote node
    I can send a project if it is needed
    can you please help me to figure out why that particular case is not working ?
    Aaron Stannard
    @Aaronontheweb
    we should shut this room down, no longer a need now that Akka.NET supports .NET Core as of 1.3.0
    .NET 4.5 --> .NET Core default serialization does not work and will not work
    due to all of the default namespaces for primitive types being changed on .NET Core
    you'll need to use protobuf serialization instead

    Hi @Aaronontheweb , Please am trying to do an akka remote from my xamarin.forms app to my deployed remote actor system but its not working.. Kindly assist if that is possible.
    Aaron Stannard
    @Aaronontheweb
    @troasfl_twitter are you getting a specific error message of some kind?
    like a serialization error?
    troas lutterodt
    @troasfl_twitter
    not at all. no error is been displayed
    Aaron Stannard
    @Aaronontheweb
    so how do you know it didn't work?
    troas lutterodt
    @troasfl_twitter
    am logging to console the message that comes
    to be sure i implemented a console app to send a request to the remote actor system
    and that one works
    Aaron Stannard
    @Aaronontheweb
    but it doesn't work when you remotely deploy from a Xamarin App?
    troas lutterodt
    @troasfl_twitter
    it doesnt provide any error too
    yes
    troas lutterodt
    @troasfl_twitter
    Can i shared the code
    Aaron Stannard
    @Aaronontheweb
    sure
    troas lutterodt
    @troasfl_twitter
    @Aaronontheweb , can i send you the logs also form the xamarin.forms output

    The code is pasted below
    protected override void OnStart()
    {
    // Handle when your app starts
    var config = ConfigurationFactory.ParseString(@"
    akka {
    actor{
    provider = remote

    your application is shutting down immediately
    that's the problem
    need to block it from exiting
    system.WhenTerminated.Wait()
    troas lutterodt
    @troasfl_twitter
    ok
    let me try that now and provide you feedback
    troas lutterodt
    @troasfl_twitter
    @Aaronontheweb , it works now.
    Thank you.

    Hi guys, can you help me? How to build websocket server on akka.net ?
    or it is bad idea ?
    Bartosz Sypytkowski
    @Horusiath
    @goti2 websockets require at least partial support of HTTP, which is pretty significant work. You can try it, but I think that for the time being it will be easier to use Kestrel for that

    Hi. Can Akka Streams be used for a websocket client?

    Hello everyone, I use the UntypedPersistentActor and I want to scale actors, I want to create these actors with one state, how to do it right? through a static field?
    Bartosz Sypytkowski
    @Horusiath
    @goti2 if this state will be changed, then don't use actors. The whole idea behind them is not to share the state, instead use message passing for sharing information

    hi, please is there a way of registering ApplicationDbContext so that it can be injected into an Actor in .net core 2.0?
    psidari
    @psidari
    I recently ported some code and associated unit tests that use Akka.NET to .NET Core. The code and the unit tests work fine in .NET but many fail in .NET Core. Some of them are failing due to race conditions. Strategically placed Thread.Sleep() calls that allow the messages to be processed resume some of the failures. Has anyone had similar issues? Any ideas?

    Hello everybody!!. I wonder if Akka is able to manage an overflow exception occurred in an actor. It closes the application and it does not execute the supervisor strategy.
    Bartosz Sypytkowski
    @Horusiath
    @regormz_twitter no force on earth will let you to prevent stack overflow exception. In any .net program this is considered an irrecoverable fault.
