Hello again. After using ralph for some time i noticed some strange things happening, most likely to be bugs. After adding an example user and adding them to a group with all permissions enabled, the user is unable to view regions previously created by an administrator user
If the example user moves to settings/users list/their name and selects "superuser status" then he is able to view the previously mentioned regions

@manioo8 did you add that user to the regions?
manioo8
@manioo8

I did now, and the user is able to see everything. Thanks, didn't realize that users are region-locked only to their available regions.

Is there a hidden functionality in searching by invoice dates? in backoffice/hardware, searching using the invoice date returns all the records, no matter what time frame is selected in the filter menu on the left

I don't recall any hidden features there -- it should be straightforward

for instance, searching for things with an invoice date of 22/11/2018 - 24/11/2018 returns everything, including items that have (missing) in their invoice date field, and items which don't match the given time range, for instance items from 12/7/2018
The date was selected from the "drop down" interactive menu for selecting a date that shows up when one clicks the date field
both in the filter menu and while adding the asset, the date was selected this way

so it is problem with language (if we have user language -english it's working but if user have language -polish it's not)
manioo8
@manioo8
Jan 22 10:22
Okay, I think I know what's the problem. I tried doing the same thing on another pc, and it worked there surprisingly. Then I realized that the system where it worked has english language selected

Jan 22 10:22
hmm
that may be a bug

The search failed for the same user on the same page, when the user's language was set to polish, and the dates displayed with polish month names

Jan 22 10:24
Would you mind describing that in a bug please?
manioo8
@manioo8
Jan 22 10:24
Switching the language to english enables the normal, expected functionality, and selecting a narrow time range displays only the matching assets
So just create an issue in https://github.com/allegro/ralph/issues describing the bug?
Roman Prykhodchenko
@romcheg
Jan 22 10:28
Yes -- that would be helpful

Is this okay? should I add something to make it clearer? allegro/ralph#3384

We find another problem, in Reports: Manufactured - category - model
In Manufactured f.ex. Belinea I have DELL equipment

Jan 22 11:18
For example, we have a monitor model called U2415 added, with manufacturer selected as DELL. We have another manufacturer than dell, called BELINEA. After adding a lot of assets with model selected as U2415 (which automatically assigns it's manufacturer to dell) and around 1-2 assets from belinea manufacturer, and going to Reports -> manufactory category model
we get a list of manufacturers with the amount of assets assigned to them. BELINEA, despite having only 1-2 assets, shows 109, and after clicking the name, displays a sub-menu in which all the different models are listed that are supposedly from belinea

the models displayed are actually from dell, but ralph incorrectly assigns them to another manufacturer in the report. is it a known issue? Is it something that happens on your side as well? Should i just create another issue that describesthis?

checking the database from cli with mysql commands also shows that there is only one model from belinea and that there are only two assets assigned to that model. I checked assets_asset, assets_assetmodel and assets_manufacturer tables. There's a manufacturer with a certain id, only one model with that manufacturer's id and only 2 assets with that model's id
So it seems that there's something wrong with the part of ralph that generates the manufactured category model list, as the database records seem to be correct

@sushmabn_gitlab there is a documentation here: https://tipboard.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
this channel is not about tipboard, though, so you won’t get support for this product here
