i think it might be related to volumes - did you use volumes?
Jan Bundesmann
@knoppi
@vi4m Just created an issue. In case you were referring to me with the volumes: I did not "use" anything at that point, this happened during the build process. Later, I would have used volumes, yes. But the corresponding layers of the image appears later in the Dockerfile.

@knoppi did you use mac system?
Jan Bundesmann
@knoppi
No, it is a Debian Linux.

Ran Ralph3 install as described by https://ralph-ng.readthedocs.io/en/latest/installation/installation/#debianubuntu-package-recommended. Installed on Ubunto 14.04 after installing Mysql and trying to run the "Ralph Migrate" command I get command not found. can anyone help. FYI. very much a Linux newbie.

@onibox I appreciate the information however a comparison between the to pages shows they are the same information unless there is one magical line I missed. but they look like the same instruction set to me.
Fabian Krack
@onibox
@seabrig29 Same page, but different section. The 'ralph' binary should be located in /opt/ralph/ralph-core/bin

@seabrig29
@onibox Thank you for taking the time to answer. For the life of me I dont see a single difference between the two sets of instructions. However I did them and the results were the same. I even tried to running Ralph Migrate from the correct bin folder. the following errors Could not find platform independent libraries <prefix>
Could not find platform dependent libraries <exec_prefix>
Consider setting $PYTHONHOME to <prefix>[:<exec_prefix>] Clearly the set of instructions are not designed to be followed with some extensive inherent knowledge. I even tried setting Pyhonhome= /usr/bin and also tried setting to the ralph-core bin folder. cool looking product but just not worth it.

if you set environment variables, as described, the PATH will be set, and „ralph” command should be available
you might want to "source ~/.profile"

@onibox
Hi, maybe a dumb question, but why is RalphNG installed into /opt/ralph/ralph-core and not just /opt/ralph? What does 'core' mean?
✪ vi4m Marcin Kliks
@vi4m
we have plans for packaging other components for ralph such as PDF invoices / documents generation

@vi4m
what steps didn’t work?
amith
@amithp531_gitlab
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv-keys 379CE192D401AB61 - from this step onwards ,do we really need a clean ubantu machine

actually 'ralph-core' is not installing properly

ImportError: No module named 'statsd'
dpkg: error processing package ralph-core (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
ralph-core
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Is it possible that filtering 'is_active' for users does not work? I can filter out users for groups, but the parameter "&is_active=xxx" does not change anything independent of what "xxx" is. So far I chose true, false, 0, 1, 2
I'm referring to an api call like http://localhost/users/?is_active=false&groups=1
Oh, my fault - has to be capitalized "is_active=[True|False]"

little question: why isn't there a components page for the back office assets conform the data center assets? This would greatly assist us in categorizing these back office assets

ralph-cli project on github looks stale, last commit from 2016. Does the tool still work with RalphNG?
Fabian Krack
@onibox
And is it still recommended to be used, or is there a better tool?
✪ vi4m Marcin Kliks
@vi4m
I guess it should work - it’s just API client for ralph API
having said that, most people just write own API clients / curl scripts, that’s why we don’t develop ralph-cli tool
do you want something specify to automate / import ?
Fabian Krack
@onibox
No, was just looking for a CLI tool for RalphNG that fully supports the API.
Thanks for your answer!

hello guys, quick question: where can I change the required fields when adding back office assets? Also, how can I remove the "user" field completely?
✪ vi4m Marcin Kliks
@vi4m
you can hide this field in settings -> permissions
cosmo222
@cosmo222
Hi, Is it possible to add fields in user managment? I our company we are using Debian as a server system, and I want to make extra fields that allow me to describe who has ssh access to which server, and what level of access.

@tretos53
Hi, I installed ralph3 some time ago and I wonder if there were any updates since then. How do I check the version and is there an easy way to upgrade to the latest build?
Found an issue and before I report I better check for updates

Is it possible to have a report or a graph with percentage of free/used space in each rack?

The documentation for the 'Workflow system' is not there yet. Where can i find/try out the workflow that RalphNG supports in the demo installation?
✪ vi4m Marcin Kliks
@vi4m
@cosmo222 not sure about that. maybe @romcheg knows something about it?
@tretos53 show me the output of dpkg -l "ralph-"
@tretos53 I suppose you've seen the dc visualization ? it shows green/red bars
@onibox we have some documentation regarding workflows
@onibox the thing is, we call them "transitions" ;-)
✪ vi4m Marcin Kliks
@vi4m
@onibox but, well, the documentation really covers more advanced scenario, when you want to customize workflow in code
the simple scenario is really trivial and can be covered in one screen: http://ralph-demo.allegro.tech/transitions/transitionmodel/
