Can you reproduce this and share a working example on glitch/etc
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org
[m]
I am on the same network as it works on before i even tested on ngrok
If you want i can share my screen?
So we can talk about it
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org

I doubt anyone has that type of availability - sorry!
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org

This is my message send component
This is my message getter component db.get.on is just for cheking for am i able to get the data from peers
This is a msg send
from firefox
It doesnt get the message from the other pair
I coulnt figure it out
2 days ago same code was working
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org
[m]
as you can see the websocket connection is failing
that's the issue
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org
[m]
It used to fail but
i worked
it worked before
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org
[m]
GUN depends on those websockets being reliably connected. Are you doing this behind a proxy/gateway/something?
Yeah this seems about your network connectivity conditions and not GUN itself
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org
[m]
Let me try another connection hold on
same issue
After i logout and signin again i can see somemessages
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org
[m]
How about you use your own GUN server?
you're using a public/demo one which is not guaranteed to be reliable, run your own GUN server and the issues will disappear
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org
[m]
I have tried ngrok for server
issue still continues
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org
[m]
ngrok?
that's got nothing to do with it
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org
[m]
It turns your localhost to a server
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org
[m]
not sure where you're getting this from, but you need to run your own GUN server and then use that for your project if you want it to be reliable and up to your own devices ;)
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org
[m]
i will send link hold on
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org
[m]
nah, ngrok is just a packet forwarding tool, i know it perfectly, not good for your case
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org
[m]
So we cantry
But it use to be working i do not understand the problem what changed
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org
[m]
its a lot easier if you start a GUN server somewhere (dynos, glitch, anything) and connect there w/o trickery
Your errors will dissipate very quickly
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org
[m]
how can i create a gun server for fre
free
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org
[m]
its all in the docs
its a lot better if you find out from there precisely than out of a chat ;)
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org
[m]
Okay but i still doubt it is becouse of i dont have GUN server it use to be working just fine.
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org
[m]
pure luck
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org
[m]
Pure luck for 15 days in a row?
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org
[m]
you're using someone else's peer, it might go offline, be broken, disappear, etc
up to you man, do as you prefer :) just sharing advice
dot357
@dot357:matrix.org
[m]
Thanks
Lorenzo Mangani @qxip
@lmangani:matrix.org
[m]
and YES pure luck 15 days is a row sounds fine, if there's an issue with that specific server, it might even be 360 days of luck. Use your own resources if you want to guarantee uptime/etc in your app
