if i had to guess, it might be that addtorrent failed somewhere and the error wasn't checked in wrapping code
i don't think i've ever seen it

the function itself is called by a onesecond ticket to calculate speed. it's started only after addtorrent() completed without errors and is initialized properly
    t.downloadedSize = t.Torrent.BytesCompleted()
    t.uploadedSize = t.Torrent.Stats().DataBytesWritten

@anacrolix have you seen this error with default storage engine?
unexpected error hashing piece with *storage.fileTorrentImpl: open /storage/A26A0AF96A0ACA4D/elementium/Atomic.Blonde.2017.BDRip.1080p.ExKinoRay.mkv: too many open files

I haven't. It shouldn't happen unless your disk or CPU is very slow, and the incoming data outpaces it.

That is on android device. Can be Close on piece struct somewhere not called in-time? Or when many pieces in use by outgoing connections?

Hmmm, as you know I haven't tested seeding much.
