am I understanding right, that uploading on devices, behind routers , are so low because of missing upnp/nat?

Uploading and downloading are slow because of that, yes, but uploading as well might be affected because of the default behaviour to not upload until 100% complete. Let me check.

Less peer choice, as you can only connect to people. Some people seeding might only be able to connect inbound to you.

I have raised few tickets for Matt to add SetListenAddr (this can give ability to us to manually manager upnp/nat) and add unpn/nat usage
i'm afraid to touch that things in the library, don't want to break the library :)

Cool, looks like the aggressive upload is enabled for Elementum so should be mostly good :).

When I run elementum behind Mikrotik router I have around 100 active peers connected and easily passing 7k Kb/s, but some people report they have about 300kb/s (with any storage type)
I believe adding proxy + upnp will make people hapier

I agree, it’s not really affected us here that much of really well seeded torrents speed wise, but you definitely notice it in peer numbers or lesser seeded ones.
Could ask people to manually open ports on the router if you can set the listen port in the config, see if it helps before the change?
Wonder if it might be to do with uTP too, as a lot of ISPs more heavily rate limit non-uTP here in the UK. Is it still disabled?
