Morning!
Andrew Nesbitt
@andrew
Jun 08 2014 18:03
Thanks for the tweet @ukmadlz
I'm not sure how much space we have in the venue, but I have a couple mini quadcopters I can bring along
plus arduinos, spark cores and lots of wires and breadboards
I doubt we have room for AR Drones

@ukmadlz
Jun 08 2014 18:04
With the amount times people just trigger AR's to max speed, I doubt it too
Any other toys people want to bring down to play with?

I ordered some of those Estimote beacons, but I don't think they will arrive in time
Mike Elsmore
@ukmadlz
Jun 08 2014 18:06
I'm still waiting on the estimotes I order 2 weeks a go so I doubt it.
I do have some Twilio credit for people that are doing software only
Andrew Nesbitt
@andrew
Jun 08 2014 18:07

I'm trying to think of a name/domain for my hack
Mike Elsmore
@ukmadlz
Jun 08 2014 18:08

I'm thinking a combined github/stackoverflow search
A search engine for developers
Mike Elsmore
@ukmadlz
Jun 08 2014 18:13
devoverload?
Andrew Nesbitt
@andrew
Jun 08 2014 18:16
Baris suggested gitoverflow
turns out googles custom search api rate limit is pretty harsh
Mike Elsmore
@ukmadlz
Jun 08 2014 18:18
I'm sure we can find a way round the rate limiter?

@JakePrice86

I really like the idea of a combined search for devs
Andrew Nesbitt
@andrew
Jun 08 2014 18:21
I'm imagining a duckduckgo-like interface
showing results from github repo, issue and code search
Jake Price
@JakePrice86
Jun 08 2014 18:21
Nice - I'm really loving the new DDG interface as well
Andrew Nesbitt
@andrew
Jun 08 2014 18:21
and stackoverflow results
which means 4 requests for each search, but caching the results into a local elasticsearch each time so we get better results the more searches are performed
Jake Price
@JakePrice86
Jun 08 2014 18:22
DDG uses searchcode.com as well doesn't it? Could you use that as well?
Andrew Nesbitt
@andrew
Jun 08 2014 18:23
yeah good idea
oh and gist as well
Jake Price
@JakePrice86
Jun 08 2014 18:25

Mike Elsmore
@ukmadlz
Jun 08 2014 18:52

Andrew Nesbitt
@andrew
Jun 08 2014 18:52

is there an actual theme?
Andrew Nesbitt
@andrew

Jun 08 2014 19:37
weird they've got a repo that isn't really a repo, just using it for the issues. Shows how good the GH issues tool is
I'm not CSSey enough for frontend, and not got enough experience for senior backending sadly...
