    Hi guys
    Is there any update to upgrade UI grid (AngularJS 1/.x) to angular 2?
    If the UI grid is available in Angular 2 . Please share the plunker/fiddle link.

    UI-Grid does not support angular 2/4 yet
    I am planning on starting some sort of development on it soon, but we need to come up with a plan first
    However, it seems someone has come up with a way to make it work there: https://github.com/vladotesanovic/ui-grid-angular2
    So, you can try that and let me know if it works
    Marcelo Sauerbrunn Portugal
    @mportuga
    But I am looking for volunteers to help me with developing a new version of ui-grid for angular 4. As for now, I want to start slow. I want to reuse some code, but I want to start by having a very basic grid, without the extra features and use a different website for it. I also want to make sure that we follow the angular2 style guide and bring extra attention to end to end tests and keep the code coverage high

    Hey guys, sorry that I have been absent. I have a plan for moving to the new version of angular now:
    So if anyone wants to help out, this is how to start
    Nate Dudenhoeffer
    @AgDude
    @mportuga Great to see this moving forward! I probably won't be able to contribute much to it in the next few months. But it is something we would like to help with long term.
    I haven't looked in detail at your planning document, but my suggestion is to strip out as many "features" as you can. Make sure there is a good plugin architecture so they can all be implemented as plugins.
    We tried to go that direction with the current version of ui-grid, but we didn't want to remove existing features. Seem to me like a good time to do that.

    @vladotesanovic
    @mportuga i ll be available to help with writing features and fixing bugs, but not full time
    you can contact me...

    I can help since I am again implementing a grid for a client. Does anyone have a stub project started in github?
    Marcelo Sauerbrunn Portugal
    @mportuga
    we are going to use the same code
    Kevin Clark
    @monster910

    @mportuga If I were to make a suggestion, I would think you want to improve the grid by making components correctly for Angular2. I have used Telerik, PrimeNG, Highcharts and ui-grid. ui-grid has a superior performance model due to how you handle DOM. It is, however, clumsy in terms of configuration and customization. It a JS framework stuck into Angular.

    Wrappering in Angular4+ is fine for legacy migration, but I really think there needs to be more thought to become a "true" A4 component library.

    Marcelo Sauerbrunn Portugal
    @mportuga
    Well, I thought less of wrapping it in angular 4, more of converting the existing code piece by piece to angular 4 standards
    because a simple wrap has been done before by others, I think there is even a link to such a project here.
    I saw 2 possible solutions, one was to use the existing files and convert them to angular 4/5 standards, meaning either ES6 or typescript right away, with careful testing and taking advantage or protractor to ensure it all works. Also, converting the unit tests as we move along to ensure no functionality breaks and we get full feature parity
    really, i just want to follow this recommendations: https://angular.io/guide/upgrade
    Marcelo Sauerbrunn Portugal
    @mportuga
    by that same note, we would also have to try to update ui-grid 4.x to follow the angular style guide
    alternatively, we could try to start from "scratch", meaning, create a new github and only migrate code as necessary, or as it makes sense
    regardless, one of my goals was to do it one piece at a time. Meaning, start with the core grid, then do the individual "features" or plugins if you will
    that way, we can have some alpha and beta versions and possibly even release something to the public before having all of it upgraded
    Kevin Clark
    @monster910

    @mportuga Converting piece by piece is the right move. I wrapped ui-grid in a project and it was a headache. When I get a chance I will post the code in a branch to review.

    I would start working on converting gridoptions into some form of a component or directive that can be configured in the HTML using proper A4 bindings.

    As a bridge you might want to consider a good set of new directives that work with some legacy code.

    @mportuga I am available to develop features, please let me know.

    Hi how to use angular ui grid in angular 6
    Cristian Hernandez
    @clystian
    @mportuga I'm available to collaborate as developer
    Marcelo Sauerbrunn Portugal
    @mportuga
    @clystian I will certainly accept any help that I can get. I would say as a start, if you could help by opening pull request to fix some of the defects on the grid, that would go a long way.
    @vishwackh There is no way to use the grid with angular 6 at the moment
