How can i animate a transition between the same component ( via a router )

the way i have my route set is that we just re-use the same component, and get different data using a route resolver. this is used for a category page, with an unlimited number of sub categories (e.g cat one has 2 subcats, one of the subcats has more ... etc)

the standard page transitions aren't working, because the component isn't being recreated, and a new one is not being created.
Brad
@bradtaniguchi
One ghetto approach is to change the router so it re-creates the component anyways
Brendan Ingham
@brendan.ingham_gitlab
What do you mean, change the router?
I've had enough trouble with aux routes I don't wanna make it cry(or myself) further
Brad
@bradtaniguchi
No, I believe there is a setting on the router to re-render a component if routed to the same route
Brendan Ingham
@brendan.ingham_gitlab
Ohh, yeah I'll do that
Brad
@bradtaniguchi
by default it doesn't (for performance) but if you wanted it to re-render anyways (like for animations, clearing state, etc) you can change that behavior
I think it has something todo with this: https://angular.io/api/router/RouteReuseStrategy
I could be wrong, I'm going off the top of my head hear, but might be worth looking into

If I have two ngModules that have the same provider and I import the modules into another module, which one's provider wins in that modules injection hierarchy?
Is it the one defined later?
E.g.
imports:[
...
ModuleWithProvidersA
ModuleWithProvidersB
]
Does A or B win?
Alex Rickabaugh
@alxhub
Yes, the one that comes later, so B :)
Damien Retzinger
@damienwebdev
@alxhub awesome, thanks.

is there a way to instantiate HttpHeaders with a [string, string][] or a Map<string,string>?
Brad
@bradtaniguchi
@erik777 You could probably use a conversion function that takes one of those to get them to a plain {}
Erik
@erik777
yeah, i ended up writing one... mapToHttpHeaders

Lazar Ljubenović
@lazarljubenovic

hi, does anyone know if it's possible to prevent scroll to top for certain routes using angular router?

Hi there! I have a text with some placeholder like "lorem ipsum dolor sit amet [{text}], foo bar [{anotherText}], bla bla bla...". I need to replace all text inside square and graph bracket with custom input, there is some text parser that you can suggest me to reach this goal?
broweratcognitecdotcom
@broweratcognitecdotcom
@SAGOlab String.replace
SAGO
@SAGOlab
@broweratcognitecdotcom thanks a lot, so there's not npm package, or library, or something similar uh?
broweratcognitecdotcom
@broweratcognitecdotcom
@SAGOlab For a string replacement? ... what do you need a library or package for? what does String.replace not do that you need???

Hello friends, I am trying to edit inline table with select option by using angular 7. I have already an API however I can't send the api by choosing one option from the select tag to edit ? Can someone give me a help? thanks
SAGO
@SAGOlab
@broweratcognitecdotcom yes, but if there was something that recnognize a variable from a text and extract it automatically would be useful
but, no worry, if not exist I'll use the good old way of programming. ;-)
Jorrit
@jorrit-wehelp
@SAGOlab there are many many 'templating' libraries on npm... But it really depends on what the source and the used syntax/features is
SAGO
@SAGOlab
@jorrit-wehelp the syntax is provided me by cicero of accordproject
Jorrit
@jorrit-wehelp
@SAGOlab not familiar twith that.... but don't they provide a parser and formatter for it then?
SAGO
@SAGOlab
so an API return me a text that contain plain text mixed with "placeholder" that are store in square and graph brackets
@jorrit-wehelp sadly no, it provide only a ui library for react
Jorrit
@jorrit-wehelp
But then they then must have a parser in javscript there somewhere?
But if it's really just flat variables, nothing else. I'd start with simple String.replace or String.match regexp solutions. Or _.template if I already have lo-dash dependencies in the project :/
SAGO
@SAGOlab
in fact..., I'm really nearing to the end of parcing and replace process, but from a daily my team tell me that the text with variables in future will be more complex that today, so I'm wondering that exist something that can save my time in future, all here.
broweratcognitecdotcom
@broweratcognitecdotcom
CDK Overlay panelClass can only be one class name, and not space spearated class names =( =( =(
How bogus
Jorrit
@jorrit-wehelp
Then i'd really look into their react UI library and see what they are doing inside... cause as soon as it gets more complex (loops or even evaluating expressions, String.replace won't do anymore :)
I'd either extract their parser from the react UI.... or just use the react web components inside the angular app :/
SAGO
@SAGOlab
@jorrit-wehelp yes, your're right, Infact I'm following this way, thanks a lot

Hi all, are there any known issues with background-image in scss with angular projects? i cannot add a background-image as it will trow an error at that syntax?...
 background-image: url('../assets/images/Angular_full_color_logo.svg.png');

Nvm, found it.
