yeah.. not sure what it is, but I'm not going to try to figure out why. it's strange - sometimes it would work, and sometimes it wouldn't. so, one time I restarted gulp, and all of a sudden it broke again.
Kyle J. Kemp
@seiyria
so, I had another strange issue: http://i.imgur.com/8MUwFpf.png -- my icons are horribly off-center. I'm not using md-icon (couldn't get it to work) so I'm using ng-md-icon instead, if that makes a difference.
Kyle J. Kemp
@seiyria
seems it's ok to just do ng-md-icon svg { transform: translate3d(0, 25%, 0); }

Is there a demo of using the FAB toolbar in an md-list?
Jorge Cortes
@jcortes
Hello anyone knows how to use md-select with field required and ng-messages to validate if an option has been choosen?
Paul Bailey
@pizzapanther
@jcortes the demo for that component has a validation example: https://material.angularjs.org/latest/#/demo/material.components.select
Jorge Cortes
@jcortes
@pizzapanther thanks

@adilogin15
Hi there I want to have an dialog open on clicking terms and conditions link on a webpage
how can I achieve that in angular layout ?
Paul Bailey
@pizzapanther
Cemre Çevik
@nolines
hi there , i have an jquery and angularjs mix project . it is really big project, and i want to use angular material or lumx on these. i like lumx multiselects and other form demos but angular material has many other options to use component variately. can someone tell me which is the best practice for projects like mine?
Paul Bailey
@pizzapanther
you've just stumbled upon the eternal programmers dilemma , "which frameworks to choose?"
Best thing is to just choose one
i'm partial to Angular Material of course
but maybe test one out for a couple days, often times I'm able to see pretty quickly which one is for me after using it for a couple days
you'll end up hitting a road block that the other framework does easily and you'll have your answer
Vinay Agarwal
@vinkaga
Hello, is there an example of FAB button that actually floats over content? The buttons in demos are inline with the content not over it.
adilogin15
@adilogin15
@pizzapanther : I have seen that angular documentation , the problem is since terms and conditions is a big page , so I have made a seperate handlebars file for it and and even after following all procedures it doesnt shows anything.
Paul Bailey
@pizzapanther
if it is that big you should just make it a separate page, a dialog is maybe not a good choice for that much content
also as a dialog that means you'll be loading that large amount of content on every page. Where if you just link it to another page, it could reduce your page load time
adilogin15
@adilogin15

for example : This is my code

 <md-checkbox flex="50" ng-model="signupInfo.termsAndConditions" required>
                I Agree to <a href="/terms-and-conditions" ng-click="showtacdialog($ev)">Terms and Conditions</a>
            </md-checkbox>

Do I need to use ng-href ?

Paul Bailey
@pizzapanther
with an a tag no
adilogin15
@adilogin15
the other file is an handlebars file and I have made a controller for that
Paul Bailey
@pizzapanther
but you can add target="_blank" so it opens in a new tab
adilogin15
@adilogin15
the problem is that it is directing to new page instead of opening a dialog in same page
dialog should open in same page
Paul Bailey
@pizzapanther
for a dialog you need to use ng-click
adilogin15
@adilogin15
then on ng-click use a controller function
Paul Bailey
@pizzapanther
yep
adilogin15
@adilogin15
which I have done as mentioned in angular documentation
adilogin15
@adilogin15
what are the main things which I should mention in controller? , I think the problem must be in controller

for example : I have assigned

$scope.showtacdialog = function(ev) {
           function showtacdialog() {
                $mdDialog.show({
                  templateUrl: 'terms-and-conditions',
                  parent: angular.element(document.body),
                  targetEvent: ev,
                  clickOutsideToClose:true
                });
              }
            };

I mean I have defined scope an url , and event , Is it the correct format , sorry just new to these things.

Patrick Finkbeiner
@pfinkbeiner
Well, I’m not quite sure but I think you must set templateUrl: 'terms-and-conditions.html’ otherwise you should notice an error in your browser console?!
adilogin15
@adilogin15
actually it is a handlebars file
I changed it to html . Problem is on clicking the link on my webpage , it gives a 500 error. I couldnt figure it out why .
blob
adilogin15
@adilogin15
here is my code at frontend
 <md-checkbox flex="50" ng-model="signupInfo.termsAndConditions" required>
                I Agree to <a href="#" ng-click="showtacdialog($event)">Terms and Conditions</a>
            </md-checkbox>
i get
GET /terms-and-conditions.html 500 24.176 ms -
Jorge Cortes
@jcortes
Hello, everyone knows if it is possible to apply templates using md-tabs inside each md-tab?
Miloš Stanić
@MilosStanic
@adilogin15 you must put full path to terms-and-conditions.html, but relative to root of the webserver, i.e. your project root. The client is trying to get the file from the root dir, which is probably not allowed in .htaccess or something. I'm sure this is a file path issue
adilogin15
@adilogin15
if it was file path issue the error number should be 404
adilogin15
@adilogin15
I have kept full path for example I kept path app/views/pages/terms-and-conditions.html
now it is giving 404 error , which is due to faulty paths
BTW i dont need to give any path as both of them are in same folder
Patrick Finkbeiner
@pfinkbeiner
@jcortes Yes, I used ng-include but I had trouble with ui-view
adilogin15
@adilogin15
Any good source for learning angular backend services and controllers?
Miloš Stanić
@MilosStanic
@adilogin15 it really depends where you keep your partial htmls, and it depends on what and how serves them. In case of error 500, anything served from web root is forbidden, and that surely isn't the location of your html partial. You just have to see how your backend serves stuff.
And there is no such thing as angular backend services and controllers (yet). For now, Angular only plays in the client. So in the backend you must have some node.js+express or ruby or php thing
adilogin15
@adilogin15
node.js+express
Miloš Stanić
@MilosStanic
well, in that case, the path to your html partial may not be obvious, and may not relate to the actual path on the disk. I'm afraid I can't help you.
