Hello everybody! How do you implement timepicker using material design since we dont have it yet?
Sebastien Arod
@sarod
Hi, Is there an api to list colors in the palette with their associated default color. This would be very useful for widget needing to generate material design colors like charts
I found that there is a $mdColorPalette constant but it seems that it is quite transform between it's definition in theme.palette.js and the time it is injected.
Mathew Foscarini
@thinkingmedia
@sarod I don't think there is such an API. You would have to just define your own list of colors.

Hello, I have a problem with loading svg images, they are loaded directly from server not from template cache, is there any way to force angular material to seek cache first?
Erwan DATIN
@MacKentoch
@Murarz208 yes sure. $mdIconProvider to manage your icons then cache them at app.run. There is a good example on the websitehttps://material.angularjs.org/latest/demo/icon
Maciek Murawski
@Murarz208
@MacKentoch I didn't write that - I have problem with svg images provided by angular material, like md-tabs-arrow.svg in md-tabs. In browser console I have an error that http://localhost:8080/md-tabs-arrow.svg cannot be loaded (404) and I wonder why icon is loaded directly from server, why not from $templateCache (md-tabs-arrow.svg is available in $templateCache, I've checked that)
Erwan DATIN
@MacKentoch
@Murarz208 sorry. In fact I always just use svg icons from Google (I get them from npm). I never use embedded icons.
Minh Trí
@tringuyenminh92
Which link for ang material icon? @MacKentoch
Erwan DATIN
@MacKentoch

@tringuyenminh92 I use svg icons from google github.

I get them local (I prefer). I copy svg icons thanks to a gulp task to my public directory where I manage them to be cached.

You can install though

  • bower $ bower install material-design-icons
  • npm npm install material-design-icons

When I search a google material icon name (that I need) I search here list and search input for google material icons.

To conclude that is my way. It may not be everyone's way (some could prefer can link*)

*link(won't be cached) :

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/icon?family=Material+Icons"
      rel="stylesheet">

Hello, is there a simple way to detect if the browser supports angular material? I have created a website and want to show a message, if the browser wont support it. It looks very bad if the visitor look at a damaged view. Thanks for helping.

Did angular-material drop support for angular v.1.3?
Brian
@bshir
+1 to the v1.3 support. I've noticed that the material demos have been running on v1.4 for a long time.
material 1.0.1 has angular 1.4.8 in the package.json.
I'm seeing an issue that first appeared in material 1.0-rc6 with regarding md-select elements (angular/material#6497) - I suspect this is related to $animate changes in angular 1.4

is there a way to use material and angular2 in the same project?
Florian Knop
@fknop
@halayli I believe there is a implementation of material for angular 2
Hasan Alayli
@halayli
@fknop I prefer official builds.. I was wondering if I can include angular 1.x and 2 in the same project where material uses angular 1.x and I can use v 2
Florian Knop
@fknop
@halayli You could take a look at this : https://angular.io/docs/ts/latest/guide/upgrade.html otherwise I really don't know

hi. I'm using ng-repeat directive on an array which contains the results of a query to mongodb. Even though the array is composed of n elements I get n * 3 repetitions in the page. Why is that?
I checked mongo, no repetitions!
I'm using meteor mongo
any help?

why is my icon positioned so bizarrely? i assumed the icon would sit in the middle of the button, but its offset to the bottom right for some reason. http://codepen.io/anon/pen/gPgNQq

@tonyeung it’s simply too big. Change md-36 to md-28

dumb question does anyone have an example with md-toolbar, md-sidebar, and md-content that is similar to the angular material website?

basically

[ Top bar |||--------------------- Settings ]
[ Left Nav ] [ Content ]

Night Monkey
@NightAOtidae
just a note but the material-start and a variety of other material starter packs, are very basic when it comes to demo'ing components.
 <md-content flex role="navigation">
      <ul class="docs-menu">
        <li ng-repeat="section in menu.sections" class="parent-list-item {{section.className || ''}}" ng-class="{'parentActive' : isSectionSelected(section)}">
          <h2 class="menu-heading md-subhead" ng-if="section.type === 'heading'" id="heading_{{ section.name | nospace }}">
            {{section.name}}
          </h2>
          <menu-link section="section" ng-if="section.type === 'link'"></menu-link>

          <menu-toggle section="section" ng-if="section.type === 'toggle'"></menu-toggle>

          <ul ng-if="section.children" class="menu-nested-list">
            <li ng-repeat="child in section.children" ng-class="{'childActive' : isSectionSelected(child)}">
              <menu-link section="child" ng-if="child.type === 'link'"></menu-link>

              <menu-toggle section="child" ng-if="child.type === 'toggle'"></menu-toggle>
            </li>
          </ul>
        </li>
      </ul>
    </md-content>
Florian Knop
@fknop
@NightAOtidae I think this one solves your problem, there is a demo: https://github.com/flatlogic/angular-material-dashboard
Night Monkey
@NightAOtidae
The example pulled from the docs template is really pretty useful but could have helped with some documentation.
@fknop i think i looked at this before but let me look again
Night Monkey
@NightAOtidae
Florian Knop
@fknop
Yes
Night Monkey
@NightAOtidae
@fknop thanks but unfortunately that kind of just shows <md-sidenav
I suppose a better question would be, on the angular material site, there is a sidenav that is utilizing <li tags and a combination between menu link and menu-toggle
What I can't seem to find is examples that are doing hierarchical navs on the left menu
other examples of this are more complex components where-in one material component is made up of 4-5 other components, all of which are sending data to one another etc
Night Monkey
@NightAOtidae
@fknop the example you gave for instance is primarily using angular 1.4 type directives vs trying to create components like in angular 2.0
@fknop obviously directives / components are similar, but what im saying is that im looking for a few examples for complex components in more of a 2.0 style feel
Florian Knop
@fknop
For the angular material website, the source is on github :)
