@losorio35
hello guys, What library do you recommend ?, to work with tables that have pagination, filtering, sorting, etc.
?
Rex
@GenuineRex
Last I read it was recommended to filter and sort in code not in a view (table). As far as a table or grid that has pagination - I have not had that need yet. Material does have this https://material.angular.io/components/table/overview and that would be the first place I would look.

what does this server worker do?
I am asking because this service worker is what is causing the 404 (blank page) on every deploy.
Rex
@GenuineRex
@Splaktar oops - thank you.
Michael Prentice
@Splaktar
@m-henderson it caches content so that the site still works when offline or on a bad connection. If you are having issues with 404s, then try updating or unregistering the SW and then reloading the page. You can also try ctrl-refresh. There was a bug with an old version of the angular SW, but it should be fixed if you unregister and reload (which will update the SW).
Michael
@m-henderson
@Splaktar right, that is how I have always fixed the issue. I don't want our users of the site to have to do this every time we deploy. Is there a permanent fox that we are working on for this issue? Also, you said "if you are having issues with 404" do some people not experience this issue when a new version is deployed?
*fix
Michael Prentice
@Splaktar
@m-henderson when a new version is deployed to the material.angular.io website? or are you talking about deploying a new version of an app that you have built which is using angular/service-worker?
Michael Prentice
@Splaktar
@m-henderson there are a number of sev3 breaking bugs that are open for angular/service-worker, https://github.com/angular/angular/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+label%3A%22comp%3A+service-worker%22+label%3A%22severity3%3A+broken%22. angular/angular#20862 seems similar to the one you may be seeing. You can see that I’ve been running into it too. It’s blocked me and others from using angular/service-worker in production for a long time now.
Michael
@m-henderson
@Splaktar okay, great. I just wanted to make sure that you all were aware of it. Also, to answer your question, I referring to anytime the site is deployed "firebase deploy". I cloned it and tested it myself. After a few times of refreshing in chrome, it seems that the 404 goes away and the user can then view the site.
Rune Antonsen
@ruant
Why is there a MatSidenav and a MatDrawer?..
Michael Prentice
@Splaktar
@ruant this channel is for AngularJS Material (i.e. md-card). Please use https://gitter.im/angular/material2 to discuss Angular Material (i.e. mat-card).
@m-henderson note that the Angular docs site is still using a very old service worker. PR angular/angular#19795 is open to convert to the latest service worker, but it has ran into a number of blocking issues (as have many people who have tried to use angular/service-worker in production) which are still being addressed.
Michael Prentice
@Splaktar
@m-henderson Also https://gitter.im/angular/angular would be the place to raise additional angular/service-worker concerns. I understand that this discussion started due to the material part of angular.io having issues.

Hi everyone, I am trying to get my Angular 6 Material buttons to ripple, but they aren't rippling as they should. I've linked the Material icons and I've imported the material theme(deepurple-amber.css), but they aren't rippling when I click them. Could anyone tell me what I have done wrong? https://stackblitz.com/edit/angular-xiapvj?file=src%2Fapp%2Fapp.component.html

Hello I’m planning to have a pop-image in an onclick event, just wanted to know your opinion what is better to use a modal dialog or overlay component ?
wdunn
@wdunn001
overlay component?
oh huh so that s a thing sorry heh
Hello I am experience an issue with have 2 sidenavs one start and one end. When the end sidenav expands it pushes the content under the start sidenav
I need it to squeeze the content
wdunn
@wdunn001
hey @instagrregg_twitter the overlay is really cool I think it would depend on the purpose if its just a quick image preview or something I think the overlay is unnecesary
but if you plan on adding functionality in the overlay like download buttons and stuff it would be relevant
wdunn
@wdunn001
figured it out just had to pull it out of mat-sidenav-content
Greg Funtera
@instagrregg_twitter
@wdunn001 thanks for your reply really appreciated it. yeah using an overlay is an overkill hahaha

How can i give dynamic or auto increment template variable name?

I use inside an ngFor loop a button that triggers a resuable matMenu but it causing trouble (e.x. the matMenuTrigger.closeMenu() doesnt work)

I read at angular site that i should not use the same #name inside the code so i guess thats the problem

any thoughts?

  <div fxLayout fxLayout="row" class="cal-body-container">
    <div fxFlex class="cal-body" *ngFor="let dayOfTheWeek of [0,1,2,3,4,5,6]">
      <ng-container *ngFor="let todo of todoByDate(dayOfTheWeek)">
        <a mat-button class="cal-task no-hover-effect" [matMenuTriggerFor]="menu" #matMenuTrigger="matMenuTrigger">{{ todo.title }}</a>
      </ng-container>
    </div>

Hi. This question I'm guessing you're tired of responding to, but I couldnt find a clear answer online: I'm trying to add material to my angular app following material.angular.io. I noticed that a lot of documentation for common components, like the grid layout that is not documented. Even components used at material.angular.io, like the navbar, are not documented. Am I supposed to use another website that material.angular.io is a complement of? Please enlighten me.

Hello everyone is it possible to make the click on MatExpansionPanelHeader conditional ? Would I have build my own component which extends MatExpansionPanel to achieve that?
Matthias Tylkowski
@tylkomat
For example if one panel is open and has errors inside the user should not be able to open another panel.
Ryan Ham
@superamadeus
I have a component which wraps a mat-form-field. I have mat-hints which are generated with an ngFor when the input's in an error state. The mat-hints are not being rendered where they should in the form field. When they are placed statically in the template, they appear in .mat-form-field-wrapper .mat-form-field-flex .mat-form-field-infix span.mat-form-field-label-wrapper label, when they're dynamically rendered, they just appear in the dom right in the mat-form field. Am I doing something wrong?
