    @codingjoe
    @a-ruzin great, let me know if something comes up
    btw, I really appreciated you digging into this.
    This feature has been requestedested for such a long time and finally I have the feeling we are getting to really good solution.

    @a-ruzin
    I’ve created one more pull-request, docs remain unchanged, untill you approve the code :)
    Johannes Maron
    @codingjoe
    ok
    Johannes Maron
    @codingjoe
    @a-ruzin :tada: yes! This is great!
    Alexey Ruzin
    @a-ruzin
    left some comments and made fixes

    @codingjoe
    @a-ruzin I’ll look into it asap. The AWS outage kept me up all night. :/ I need to sleep a couple hours now. I probably won’t get into this until the weekend. I’ll give my best tho.
    Alexey Ruzin
    @a-ruzin
    @codingjoe so I have some time to review it by myself before I’ll get a bunch of notes from you :) Good luck fighting outage.
    Alexey Ruzin
    @a-ruzin
    @codingjoe hi, I’ve fixed what I was agreed with
    @codingjoe and tests are not stable, Is there a way to avoid racing. When I «click()» the call is instantiated to retrieve a list of cities. Next step is to take a list from DOM, but there is no sure the list has arrived.
    Alexey Ruzin
    @a-ruzin
    If you approve the code, I’ll update docs and prepare final clean pull request :) Let’s finish it
    Johannes Maron
    @codingjoe
    @a-ruzin I know the tests are selenium tests have a mind of their own. I’ll look into it, asap (which can take a while :P )
    don’t worry about them for now

    Hi, I was wondering if there is an easy way to limit the results of a ModelSelect2MultipleWidget
    aaaaand I just found max_results in the code. Nevermind :)

    @codingjoe

    @codingjoe , hi
    @codingjoe, should I rebase, after you merge master into select-chain2?
    Alexey Ruzin
    @a-ruzin
    I rebased and squashed commits into single one.

    Hey I am dealing with a problem I have spent a few minutes looking at
    django_select2.views.AutoResponseView => field_id not found
    Is this a caching issue?
    Daniel Ryan
    @techalchemy
    oh hm nevermind i think it was
    Johannes Maron
    @codingjoe
    @techalchemy probably ;) you need to setup a proper cache Backend for development. It shouldn't be an issue on production.
    Daniel Ryan
    @techalchemy
    @codingjoe yeah I figured that out, the error message led me back to the django crytpo package but i just spent some time reading the code and was able to make that determination
    I just pointed it at the db for caching
    the issue i'm having now is trying to work out how to use the dependent field parameters correctly in a somewhat bizarre setup
    I have 3 models, lets call them Model A, model B, and model C. Model B has a FK to both model A and model C. I have a form for model B, and I'm using select2 widgets on that form -- one of those is for model C. While not technically related to Model A, the shit that appears in model C should be different depending on the relationship of model B->Model A
    if that made sense, is there an intuitive way to express that with dependent fields in the current implementation
    Daniel Ryan
    @techalchemy
    hm nevermind I just fixed the horrible underlying data structures
    Johannes Maron
    @codingjoe
    @techalchemy hahaha. Ok, in general depends fields only work for foreign key relationships. Out of the box that is, one could make other implicit relationships work too.
    Daniel Ryan
    @techalchemy
    yeah our code is kind of horrible
    it is a pseudo-foreignkey that wasn't explicit, one field is an unmanaged model which points to a materialized view
    but I realized that i wouldn't break anything if I just added a join to the view definition, slapped _id to the end of the field name, and called it a foreignkey in the model definition
    problem solved
    we do some fucked up shit at my job :smile:
    @codingjoe I realized after I asked and got crickets we were probably doing something horribly wrong
    Johannes Maron
    @codingjoe
    Ok, did you get it to work after you cleaned it up?
    Daniel Ryan
    @techalchemy
    oh yeah. I just grabbed another set of eyes for a sanity check and he was like, the sample code looks a lot easier than what you're doing.
    so the new version just declared the foreignkey and worked first try
    was trying to fake it before with property definitions on the models or something
    Daniel Ryan
    @techalchemy
    btw overall the package is amazing, super intuitive and really pretty compared to the others i've used
    nice that i can use it in the django admin pretty seamlessly as well
    i did have to load an additional css styling into the admin to resize the width on select2 items for that tho, the django admin seems to think they should be 25px wide

    Help me please. I have model witch field: customer = forms.ChoiceField(widget=ModelSelect2Widget(model=Customers, search_fields=['name__icontains'])) in base {{ form.media.js }} and cache MemcachedCache (working telnet ok) but when type some word Not Found: /select2/fields/auto.json
