    @steveoh
    understandable @pbobov
    can you let me know about the keystore_file and password. If I don't have one should I leave this blank or will it create one where I specify?
    steveoh
    @steveoh
    it looks like nil in the defaults of the recipe
    i'll try that
    steveoh
    @steveoh
    @pbobov If you want to work through the 4.6.1 issue and try to make a PR to ms_dotnet I am happy to help
    Pavel Bobov
    @pbobov
    @steveoh Thanks! Please make a PR for ms_dotnet.

    kestore_file attributes (arcgis/server/kestore_file, arcgis/portal/kestore_file, arcgis/iis/kestore_file) are used by arcgis-enterprise::server, arcgis-enterprise::portal, and esri-iis::default recipes. If kestore_file is not specifed for 'server' or 'portal', then the default SSL certificate is used for server's/portal's https listeners. If kestore_file is not specified for esri-iis, then a self-signed SSL certificate is created for the specified domain name (FQDN by default) and https binding in IIS is configured using that cert.
    Pavel Bobov
    @pbobov
    In short, kestore_file attributes are not required.

    @steveoh
    @pbobov i was hoping we could brain storm on how to solve ms_dotnet together
    and since the arcgis-cookbook is organized so oddly, it makes it hard to dev on
    Pavel Bobov
    @pbobov
    @steveoh Essentially, to solve the problem with installing .NetFramework 4.6.1 we just need to figure out how to Install .NetFramework silently from command line on Windows OS supported by ArcGIS.
    Once we know how to install it from command line - making a chef recipe out of it is straightforward.
    the ms_dotnet cookbook is here https://supermarket.chef.io/cookbooks/ms_dotnet
    Pavel Bobov
    @pbobov
    ms_dotnet cookbook is not released and supported by Esri.
    But arcgis-* cookbooks depend on it.
    Pavel Bobov
    @pbobov
    @steveoh Maybe you should start with submitting an issue to https://github.com/criteo-cookbooks/ms_dotnet and describe the problem with .NetFramework 4.6.1 installation you are experiencing.
    steveoh
    @steveoh
    @pbobov i'm very aware of all of those thing and there is already an open bug
    i'm aware that ms_dotnet is not released by esri, but you do need to support it if you want your chef recipes to be worth anything
    that is one reason to be selective when taking dependencies since esri's cookbooks no longer work
    that is also how open source functions
    Pavel Bobov
    @pbobov
    @steveoh Let's fix this problem. What is your suggestion?
    steveoh
    @steveoh
    @pbobov well first finding a place we can chat and interact in real time would be nice
    or choosing a time to block out to look at things

    Quick question, what is the syntax for the role file when i'm trying to authorize software using an ESLF file? I'm assuming its part of the [authorization_options] flag, but do include just the PW or do i need to add the args too \PASSWORD password_value?
    Cameron Kroeker
    @cameronkroeker
    Hello @lhcramer, That is correct. Here is an example: "authorization_options":"/Password MyPa$$w0rd",
