The "text" field in the response is only used on API errors, correct?

Watching the ESL pro League right now. And I know @lye has been talking about getting like the builds in matches and such through the API. Do you think we would be getting those live as soon as the game starts? or only when a match ends? Cause getting it live would be pretty awesome when watching the stream. You could have a website where people could check the different build live (I guess it sucks doing it this way because of people could cheat the system and check the builds).

The ESL has a public API for matches, actually
dunno if it updates live though

but I don't think they have build info, it's more for matchups

The only way they could have build info is if the players provided a key.
And you'd have to snapshot it at the end of the match rather than the beginning or it might miss last minute changes.

well you could snapshot on match start (when build gets locked)

Right, but due to 5 minute cache you could miss stuff

should I hold on to my stack of lucky divine envelopes?
I've been hoarding them since last lunar new year
I'm scared to watch 500 gold go up in smoke if tomorrow's update makes them somehow not worth anything

As an aside, terrible things happen if you type setInterval when you meant setTimeout. (sorry if I accidentally spammed /v2/wvw/matches for a bit today)

I once had an IRC script, that got me banned
it attempted to react to a specific user with saying that he should go study
however.. it went haywire and forgot to check
