@poke omg please tell. I think latest V8 stable has proxy support; going to start integrating that into our stack when I have some free time.

@lye Basically this: https://jsbin.com/natomibedu/edit?js,output (not sure how this would be helpful in your API stack though :P)

@lye was there a patch between 6 hours before this message and 3 hours before this message? if not, the wvw kills / deaths reset not only because of patches :s
@lmik that window is a couple of hours after the EU WvW reset; the reset notification is clearing all stats (regardless of region). Fix should go out with the next release.

sounds good! thanks man :)
@Eearslya, when you get a chance, can you update https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/API:2/account/achievements for me? The response shows every achievement in the game isn't strictly true -- only achievements that the account has progress on (e.g., current > 0) are returned.
I should get a reddit account at some point.

you better not, you'll be "paged" over there so often :P
but they're right, that would be amazing
although I would like it better for how easy it would be to update the wiki with dialogues :P
heh
Disregarding the whole "it's client changes what is C++" issue, writing the log to a file is all good and fine but IMO the correct implementation is to use a local websocket (so that additional events/queries can be exposed).
(e.g., everything in the mumble link data -_-)

it is protected or something?

@codemasher
Feb 08 2016 18:55
yea, the API namespace is protected due to the fact that it should serve as official documentation

@lye I'm flattered that I'm the first one you think of with wiki edits though! But I was sleeping XD
I checked the revision history and saw you were the primary author :3
(also sorry if I woke you up)

Yeah, I used to be the primary author of the whole API namespace, but..this new 12-hour-shift-job has kind of taken that from me

that cannot be good, research in some scandinavian country (cannot set them apart) has shown that making long hauls is actually less efficient in the absolute sense then making short days, but that research was on reducing work weeks from 40 -> 32h

Probably true. But the job is a datacenter tech, and it's a 24/7/365 manned facility. We basically have day shift from 6am-6pm, and night shift, 6pm-6am

@codemasher question, why a switch(true)? It's actually the first time I've seen this. Can't use also do switch($this->dataLength - $i)?
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 08 2016 20:21
i simply changed it from an if/else statement, but either way, it seems that a swich remains uncovered unless there's a default
Archomeda

quite possible

@codemasher
Feb 08 2016 20:22
the switch is slightly faster in php, so i thought it was a grat idea to use it... :D
since this method can run up to a couple hundred to thousand times

i'm too unfamiliar with how the interpreter actually works, but in general it should be
although, i'm doubting if you calculate it within a case
i just assumed that it wasn't possible until now :D
(there are languages that don't even accept a string)

Feb 08 2016 20:26
(php doesn't actally care if there's a default or not, i just don't want a 99.9% coverage XD)
ugh

i just had bad experiences with java in general
if i had to do something in java, well be prepared for a ton of loc
especially with events :cry:
not sure how it is nowadays, but at least this was the issue with java 6 and 7
also yay, i got gitlab ci working with virtualbox
it was a pain to set that up
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Feb 08 2016 20:33
Gitlab?
basically another git hosting provider
but one that you can also completely host yourself
and they have ci built in, although it's a bit difficult to set up
basically you bring your own runners, instead of having a dedicated cloud ci like travis

previously i used jenkins icw gitlab
but jenkins is horrible
got more than 3 plugins? well you better be prepared for a lot of scrolling in the job configurations

i'm pretty sure travis is kidding me https://travis-ci.org/codemasher/php-qrcode/jobs/107904341
