Anyone happen to know when the migratory phase for the objective coords began?
dkettman
@dkettman
Jun 21 2016 19:12
Dont they migrate every summer? </s>
:cry:

nice one, congratulations @dkettman
I'll have those objectives back in place today or tomorrow
while I'm waiting for that change to integrate up, it's been awhile since I teased you guys

Jun 21 2016 21:38
whew That isnt me .. I'm only hitting items at this point... Though, that might change if I get my act together...
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 21:38
lol
I'm guessing someone's pulling the data for each item individually rather than using ?page_size=200&page=X
dkettman
@dkettman
Jun 21 2016 21:40
I dont know who you could be talking about... whistles
Hey it's only slower on your side, I'm just reading cached values from memory :D
dkettman
@dkettman
Jun 21 2016 21:40
You know .. if you do it by pages, it goes MUCH faster :)

@tivac
Jun 21 2016 21:41
hah
dkettman
@dkettman
Jun 21 2016 21:41
There was some guy on a while ago that was doing each item individually ... like some sort of noob ..
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 21:41
what's the fuzz about pages anyway? is there no npm module for array chunk? :D
There's got to be.
Pat Cavit
@tivac
Jun 21 2016 21:42
that was built by not-us, we inherited it
@codemasher also the pagination bits do exactly that on the backend
Pat Cavit
@tivac
Jun 21 2016 21:42
and didn't bother to change it
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 21:42
heh
Pat Cavit
@tivac
Jun 21 2016 21:42
but yeah an offset/count would be better
I think ?ids=... is only an issue if you hit IIS's request URL limit; not sure that ever happens
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 21:43
no, with 200 limit it's ok
dkettman
@dkettman
Jun 21 2016 21:43
IIS? .. ouch ..
yeah we're a windows shop; thankfully I've never touched IIS
Pat Cavit
@tivac
Jun 21 2016 21:44
we're a windows shop, and nginx performs like garbage on windows
Christian
@zeeZ
Jun 21 2016 21:44
yeah it totally needs a haproxy nginx apache nodejs fortran webservice
Pat Cavit
@tivac
Jun 21 2016 21:44
turns out IIS as a load-balancer is mostly fine
(and also our stuff doesn't run on non-windows)
(yet)
dkettman
@dkettman
Jun 21 2016 21:45
fortran? Why not golang? Or erlang? or ...
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 21:45
"Enterprise"
haskell!

@dkettman
Jun 21 2016 21:45
HASKELL! Good idea!

maybe they think, gw2efficiency: "glassware wonders 2 efficiency guaranteed" or something? :P
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 22:33
umm, now that i look at the map and ask myself what's missing: has anyone ever asked for zone portals jumping puzzles...?
just about to merge Alex's data

@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 22:33
but JPs don't have markers anyway, right?
nope, though they're usually near a vista
ChieftainAlex
@ChieftainAlex
Jun 21 2016 23:27
is "?page_size=200&page=X" faster than using "ids=1,2..." btw?
if you can stuff 200 ids without making IIS upset, they'll be the same
on the backend they're equivalent -- ?page basically just calls [].slice on the list of all IDs (?ids= filters against the list of all ids)
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 23:29
@ChieftainAlex have you by chance collected some vista data?
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 23:41
(map centers somewhere near Hoelbrak - have the Norn moved?)
seems like some coordinates got flipped or so
happen to know when they got changed?
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 23:44
i have no idea - most likely HoT
all related to #308
b-but I just fixed that

HARDCODE ALL THE THINGS
i think i've created this on memegenerator before
I was gonna close it and re-open the issue.
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 23:47
heh
Really gotta track down what exactly is making them change.
Can you post a link in that issue to some code that's rendering it out?
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 23:47
you can already use my map for that
I have the memory of a goldfish
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 23:48
i've drawn svg rectangles for the actual continent rect
so that you can see how they are off
yeah that seems reasonable
I might use an L.poly or something to render them out
that coordinate data is generated by a process that I'm wholly unfamiliar with
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 23:49
and run that example on it
but if you remember the uhh, trait background image size issue? that was a bug^H^H^H undocumented feature in the content tooling, so ....
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 23:50
iunno?
yeah gonna be a fun time
cleaning up /v2/characters/:id/heropoints now, will maybe take another look at the map issues tomorrow ;_;

@codemasher
Jun 21 2016 23:56
also @lye, the output of GW2GeoJSON.getData() is basically a code proposal & PR for #62 ;)
so you "only" need the servers make output so
