hrm, so I'm reading through the documentation for WvW skirmish stuff
I feel like the endpoints will need to change significantly to support the new data

new github user pages + github projects, neat
github project cards don't auto-update with tag changes yet (like waffle.io) :(
it seems like you have to manually move the card which is super annoying

historically how many breaking changes do you guys make to the apis anyway?
saw you mentioned one up the chat a bit
I try to avoid them at all costs
in that particular case I made some bad assumptions and really don't see any sane alternatives except breakage
there are other cases wherein changes to the game require breaking changes to the API (but can't recall which ones required them)

/v1 basically is implemented in C++, /v2 is implemented in Javascript using our in-house node-like environment

multiple times i've been thinking about creating something that will allow you to bind scripts for various events in gw2; basically stuff like binding to your character name and export it to a text file that you then can load into obs, custom scripts will then allow you to customize this even further
i have a proof of concept, but i hate how i designed it
can even load various data from the api

@BryghtShadow huh, I'll take a gander at that later this morning. I think those should all have titles (or not be displayed in the API at all)
I might be using the wrong field for "title" or something.

I was wondering if it'd be possible to include the war score plus kill/death stats from the previous skirmish as well? That way, we wouldn't have to try to catch it just before it switches.
so I was looking into the implementation on our side yesterday
I believe that previous skirmish data is persisted through the match
so it should theoretically be possible to expose; need to double-check the validity of that statement though

It would be fascinating (to me anyway) to chart out the differences for each skirmish over a match. Could really help identify where servers are strong/weak.
I imagine that kind of thing would help you guys determine world pairings as well.
we've got a huge number of internal metrics that are used to make decisions with (e.g., world links and stuff)

is it feasible to have historical data of wvw available on the api itself?
as in, /v2/wvw/matches/history/2016-09-09?
The technical documentation for the new features don't have any specific retention guarantees, unfortunately.
if the backend bits provide historical data I'll expose it if possible; otherwise it's not on the table :<

As I said, I'd be happy with just the current and previous skirmish ... every skirmish in the current match would be nice, but it can be archived on our side.
We're definitely stingy with retention policies in general, so you're definitely going to have to archive the historical data
It would be a lot nicer if we could provide at least the last few matches though
The entire data storage backend for WvW has changed though -- and the new system has better support for retention -- so we might be able to expose e.g, the previous match results

i haven't done wvw in a while now, my guild isn't organizing scheduled raids atm
fights are where all the wxp is at -- both from player kills and wxp drops
I think one of my guilds still raids on the weekends
i've been away for six weeks, so I'm gonna see what's up on friday

If there's anything worse, it's the d/p thieves that sit in stonemist after it caps
and then gank AFK people
if you wanna have a lot of fun in WvW, my recommendation is to join a guild that does guild raids

For me it was a guy on our side. He grabbed a total of about 1k supply and just repaired all walls to full. Then I couldnt afk anymore
