I mean, that code reminds me of enterprise Java in a way, but..at the same time, I don't see how it's bad

I remember seeing a website in the past where you could query a random api endpoint and it would give you the result as nice formatted json, does anyone know what something like that is called by any chance?
i member
@Darqam I made the API endpoints emit pretty-printed json
because the chrome jsonview kept crashing my chrome instance and it was getting really annoying

oh, he asked "could query a random api endpoint", so I assumed this should enclude other APIs than GW2's
fair; I have tunnel vision :>

Well yeah, but I did not mean an extension :) there was a website that contained all possible endpoint information of an API. It's basically a UI wrapped around the API.
A simple one since it will give you the raw json output, still with syntax highlighting ofc
I suppose that link you sent @lye is something that I meant
I had the idea to do that for the gw2 api, but I couldn't remember how it was called

Hmm that website seems incomplete :(
yeah it hasn't been updated in awhile

http://swagger.io looks interesting
swagger is a trap

lol xD
what's with it?
every place I've been that used swagger didn't use annotation-driven doc gen
they hand-maintained a JSON file
it was a nightmare
I'm sure swagger is really nice if you generate the docs from annotations. maybe.

if you want a semi capable general purpose API viewer you could use Postman
but thats not only for the GW2 api

I also have half a script laying around that crawls the item endpoint and tries to compile structure information and types from all item responses
needless to say that went over my head and I gave up

I like HttpRequester over postman personally, but really almost never use either...

maybe my half a script does something, it seems to print output
good thing I was a responsible developer that commented the living hell out of this script
that is so helpful
cough

alright, found what i was referring to in my history, it was the api sandbox that soundcloud refers you to on apigee
although i have to say that the api explorer from keeky looks better
