@lye, there are a few maps categorized under the "Unknown" map type (easy to search in /v1/maps.json):
138, 379, 432, 458, 573, 943 (instances?)
834 (hotm)
866, 929 (seasonal instances?)
988, 1015, 1042, 1058, 1095, 1155, 1158 (normal maps?)

@tivac Someone on reddit complaining about no TOTP app on WP, which is false. You might want to add a link to microsoft verificator on the 2FA page of an arena.net account.
ehh, microsofts link format breaks markdown
darthmaim
@darthmaim
Feb 17 2017 09:35
the reddit link is missing too :P

markdown hard :D
microsoft has parentheses in urls
markdown doesnt like that

the authenticator on gw2 is somehow broken anyway
i've activated it ages ago but i've been asked only once or twice to enter my auth code...

another request, I would like to be able to not trust /24 prefixes
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 17 2017 09:38
like... it saves 123.0.0.0
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Feb 17 2017 09:39
but rather full IP matches
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 17 2017 09:39
yea
84.162.0.0 - 84.162.255.255
haha
80.187.0.0 - 80.187.255.255
why not just save 255.255.255.255
wildstar in contrary sends an email with an auth code on forum login and in addition requires the google authenticator code on game login
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Feb 17 2017 09:43
oh its even a /16
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 17 2017 09:44
i think at one point it even saved a /8 block
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Feb 17 2017 11:25
well it sort of makes sense, I happen to DHCP the same IP for 8+ years now
but anets implementation now doesnt nag you for your authenticator when you DHCP another IP
personally tho, I rather get nagged then have 65535 other computers that could potentially access my account
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 17 2017 11:28
we have changing IPs on a daily basis
and it seems that anet just sets the next higher block to 255 if that changes
either way, i'd prefer to be asked for an auth code every time i log in (with an option to save my current ip)

@codemasher that's odd, anet saves a /24 block for me
maybe it depends on the subnet mask of your isp?
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 17 2017 15:22
it shouldn't save more than a single IP. imagine you share an apartment or you're on a campus where it's likely to have the same subnet and more potential for stealing accounts
also, the IP should be deleted once it changes
anything else makes 2FA moot
not to mention that saving IP addresses is being discouraged

there are a few maps categorized under the "Unknown" map type

@Archomeda thanks; those have types "Tutorial" and "Public Mini" which aren't in a table.

I'm not sure what "public mini" means so I'm just going to call that public.'
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 17 2017 19:41
public mini? :/
which maps fall under that?
the "normal" maps in the list
I'm not sure how it's different than a public map
I think the distinction is really minor and it just sets some flags for megaserver or something

Feb 17 2017 20:14
@codemasher well I am on a campus, my (previous) university campus owned 130.89/16 of which a /24 was whitelisted
also for the first time in 5 years I dont have an IPv6 adress anymore :O
I went from a /48, to a stateless autoconfigured adress to no IPv6 adress anymore q.q

I never did understand why ISPs keep handing out /64s to residential customers
I know there's a lot of /64s but why
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Feb 17 2017 20:18
the recommendation was a /48 for a while
now its /64 tho
it makes it pretty easy to route tho, oh this /64 adress? Consumer router go figure that out
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Feb 17 2017 20:32
that Quip is a hammer
sounds like that shouldnt be whitelisted at all

So I don't have to try to write the SQL queries again and again and add them to a gist
looks like it isn't whitelisted anymore

It always amazes me how fonts can be so different to each other despite being limited to the same characters
