I'm sure you guys reached conclusions hours ago on viability of BLING-9009 recipes vs ordinary ones,
-- traditional crafting of Yassith's Striders = 82g (includes 7 daily crafts of elonian leather)
-- fractal crafting of Illustrious Striders = 56g + 400 relics + 12 pages (4 days of doing all three daily rec fractals)
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 00:28
i've reached a conclusion long before it went live
neither
ChieftainAlex
@ChieftainAlex

are 400 relics worth 26g?

the boots are the ones that interest me - when I calculated the whole set of 6 the other day, boots were most expensive with traditional method
and yet they seem to be one of the cheapest vendor items

@lye I don't even want to think about why you have a currency that isn't true of. I'd always assumed it was an intermediate currency just like every other non-gold|non-gem currency.
@Archomeda Rig the whole thing up with API calls and post it. Never need to look again =)
@ all - Is there even a glider emoji? We'd need one!
Lye - I'm sure there's some fundamental MMO logic behind that which escapes me.
yeah it's called catching the crazy
you gotta catch the crazy and once you do you can never escape
:heart:
also hotfix went out so the wvw endpoints should work again
i am skeptical but we'll see how it goes
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 00:45
I meant it more from an MMO generic architecture / logic / tooling standpoint vs other games/programs.
Here's hoping with your hotfix endpoint . We believe in you \o/ ; Also. no :fire: until at least I'm back from dinner. I don't want to hear it from our WvW api folk.
..once you're sure its stable I've got a story that will either amuse you or frustrate you. I'm not sure which =)

this game is putting things in the guild log in the future 😵

@Archomeda what the living fuck
wait you just commented out the "user" field right, it didn't come out like that?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:03
yes i did ;)
okay phew
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:03
it's just more about that 1 second in the future
yeah the uhh, treasury system "leverages" the old upgrade infrastructure
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:03
:D
so the logging bits are a total mess
oh
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:03
Leverages is..kind.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:03
oh, so that's the reason why it generates 2 log entries?
the logs may have been generated on different physical servers
yeah it is
and the scribing stuff leverages it even more which is a total disaster
literally everything about game development is a total disaster
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:04
Its all relative.
literally everything about comptuers
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:05
we can leverage that higher to "life" actually... :(
well, sometimes
"on average" at least
literally everything, on average, is a total disater
:sigh:
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:06
i can live with that
actually, it's more like i have to live with that
also, i don't even trust the ingame guild logs anymore
since hot there have been cases it just doesn't even list names anymore
at least the api does it :tada:
i think i'm gonna have some fun with the guild log and discord
wait the API does but the game doesn't? That's super weird
There's also guild stuff that doesn't get logged at all (e.g., withdrawing consumables from guild storage)
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:11
well, lemme see if i can find it live
otherwise i'll have to get it from memory
I'm guessing it has to do with kicked members, though I thought the client fixed that
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:12
consumables as in banner + wvw stuff you mean?
yeah
would be nice to see who's using what
especially for the more expensive tactics
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:12
oh, well if you open the guild log twice in a short amount of time, the user names are generally marked as "..."
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:12
Waiit. the API uses it?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:12
like it takes at least a full minute to get that data
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:12
Exposes the tactic use?
no it doesn't
that data is simply not tracked at all
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:13
I didnt think so..
Also. Tactics aren't even remotely as expensive as they used to be
I keep having to tell people what they actually cost on my server -_-
fair; I remember like watchtower costing a couple gold and such
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:15
Gw2-64_2017-02-23_04-13-59.png
like this
that "Queued Impaled Prisoner"
oh right, I remember there was something really weird I do that the client doesn't for that
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:17
actually wait
the api is consistent with the panel ingame
dang

Lye, do you need help making money? I know you WvW
.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:19
anything else -> missing user
i gotta do the right reward tracks
is there an API endpoint for WvW reward tracks
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:19
No.
I should just write a script that computes which one is the highest gold/hour
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:19
hmm, now i wonder what was weird then
I should make an API for WvW reward tracks so I can write a script to compute which one is the highest gold/hour
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:20
Lye. sec.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:20
oh wait, i think that the names were an issue before, but it happened occasionally and not all the time
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:21
Now that I'm not getting run over. We'd love that. The reason we don't have it IIRC is it requires exposing something that's affected by magic find, and which NPC it pulls from.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:21
what was an consistent issue is what you can see in the screenshot :P
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:21
I'd LOVE those numbers. I'm at the point where I litterally have all the actual 'end track' rewards I want
ah crap that's true; most of the rewards are bags without previews, ugh
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:21
"<name> deposited Impaled Prisonerx1 into Impaled Prisoner." :D
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:21
What you CAN give us is probably
"We have X of Y progress on Z track"
ah true
also individual track unlocks
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:22
Yes.
And.. technically what unlocks them
Sometimes thats an instance. Sometimes its a previous track. Sometimes thats a temporary track. etc.
haha it's almost certainly an "unlock" which can "unlock" any content and can be unlocked via any method that can set a progress bit
(which is almost always a script)
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:24
/v2/pvp/rewardtracks, /v2/wvw/rewardtracks, /v2/account/rewardtracks is a go
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:24
99.9% sure it would be because it handles multiple modes
BUT. you have thing A which unlocks things A/B, and they're versioned between the 2 modes.
When it comes to progressive-tracks unlocking the next track progress
So dont miss that =)
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:24
do you happen to know at the moment if the pvp and wvw rewardtracks share ids or if they are separate?
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:25
@Archomeda 100% seperate
The only identical ones are seasonal
IIRC
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:25
well, i meant indexing, like you have a pvp reward track 1 and a wvw reward track 1
or if those share the same index
they might use the same data structure, I'd have to check
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:25
(technically I can imagine a way to NOT have them seperated, but..yeah)
After today. ..yeah.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:26
while you're at it when you have time, throw in the pve map reward tracks too ;)
hah
/v2/rewardtracks "type" : "Pve"
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:26
So..theres' actually a story there.
maybe "types" : ["Wvw", "Pvp"]
need to look at how the content works
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:27
Wiki crew's given a really weird specialized account with Those pact tokens and they had to MANUALLY get and enter the data over 8 weeks
There's no HoT equivilent. So they have no actual data.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:27
i assume the pve ones are different than the pvp/wvw ones, since the pve ones are bound to a map and differ per week
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:27
Not on the PTR. On live.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:28
well... actually maybe it doesn't differ that much
it still has 40 rewards with a incremental progress value... right?
/✌②/🎁 instead of /v2/rewardtracks
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:28
That's an assumption we've made
Not something we can databack AND
I don't think it has to have 40 rewards
but I'm pretty sure the UI breaks lol
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:29
I also don't think it has the standard split with the 10x regular reward multiplier of core-tyria maps
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:29
well i meant 40 rewards in total, not 40 unique rewards :P
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:29
So did I
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:30
that was for @lye :D
but yeah, they've manually gathered that data in the past
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:31
They were given special tools on live to gather the core-tyria data.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:31
i don't get why that stuff is hidden in the ui
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:32
Back to preview boxes. Even when we can see the contents. the rates arent really exposed. There's stuff that comes close to a lie
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:32
@ChieftainAlex mentioned that in the past
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:32
Things in verious categories shown have very little relation to each other when it comes to weighting
the container previews kinda scare me
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:33
They should.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:33
speaking of those windows, can i virtually kick someone that is responsible for putting that panel at the fixed location that's the bottom-left of my screen?
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:34
If I'm sending virtual kicks, thats not even on my top 10 list.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:34
like, no other panel does that iirc
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:34
Are you sure we're talking about the same panel?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:35
well, container preview windows right?
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:35
opens
That did NOT used to be a fixed panel location
I wswear
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:35
pretty sure it's been there since the beginning
unless it's an client issue
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:36
Windowed,, full screen, or borderless full?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:36
borderless
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:36
That might be it
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:37
you're now making me curious
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:37
IIRC it didnt used to be in a fixed position for windowed. It absolutely is now.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:39
well, it's there for all 3 modes for me
but yeah
@lye, so #388 is gonna take a while?
yeah
I need to either decouple the table rolling from the game code or reimplement it in the API backend
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:41
ouch
and it's a pretty complicated piece of code that's fairly tightly coupled to the character bits because of MF :(
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:41
wait, the contents of that panel is dynamic?
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:41
It depends on the box.
I haven't spent more than 10 minutes looking at it, but my current understanding is that it might be?
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:42
Some previews are weird.
So. PvP boxes are defacto affected by MF, because they're litterally mobs in a box.
Those don't have previews on.
I'm not sure if there's anything with an exposed container preview that's affected. Currently.
Actually. I lied
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:42
/✌②/📦 :sob:
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:43
Lucky Envelopes. All editions. Affected by MF.
Panel is not dynamic. Drop return rates are.
wait those have container previews?
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:43
Yes.
lol
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:43
The weird things you pick up when you spend so long in game.
Archomeda
@Archomeda

You have 3,394 of 4,456 (76.2%) skins in total.
good lord what
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:47

You have 1,228 of 4,456 (27.6%) skins in total.
Your collection is worth 18,022g 55s , and you would need 321,270g 50s to complete it.

yeah no

can we protest at the unicode consortium that we want a gw2 gold, silver and copper coin in there?

Feb 23 2017 03:49
I need to redo my number count for 'skins that litterally can't be acquired'
The fact that they're blessed in the API makes me sad. Because that means someone managed to get it when something was broken
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:50
or a gm spawned it in
ehhh I'm not sure the skins even had a whitelist to begin with
so a lot of the early skins I think just got copied into the whitelist
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:51
So what your'e saying is some of those might actually be 'test' equvilent skin IDs for slot ..stuff?
Not that it applies to 'backpack straps' . IIRC we've had that discussion before.

Jonathan Andrist

can't != couldnt
I should make a list. But backpack straps is the one off the top of my head

Archomeda

can't seem to find those on gw2e, only the straps
is it just not hooked up to the skin
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:55
Probably just not hooked up to the skin.
lol
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:55
BUT.
I swear there's one that says 'skin locked' and if you apply it. it litterally doesnt unlock
hmm, can't see how that'd happen tbh; maybe the skin has a disabled flag or something
that screenshot... of nothing
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:56
That's a thing that can be applied to skins? P
That actually used to have an icon.
I can never recall
it has no name
no wonder i couldn't find it
@Archomeda that makes me think they just didn't get the assets for it and cut the skin
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:56
Functionally I think that was the test for 'turn off display of backpack' but I have no idea
Might make sense if GMs bypassed that disabled flag if they used the thing.
nah that was in there at launch, so it probably just got cut because time
Jonathan Andrist
@rwfrk_twitter
Feb 23 2017 03:57
Wasn't that a feature there at launch though?
Thats the whole reason for the original backpack straps
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 23 2017 03:58
that's fair @lye, but what's the point of adding a screenshot of a skin that's literally non-existent? :P
for the wiki i mean
I thought backpack straps were to provide an item to transmute the skin onto

@rwfrk_twitter btw, it wasn't on the live server that I did the map bonus reward research. It was however painfully slow opening 40 items every week for 8 weeks and writing down their contents by hand though. I was glad we only had to verify the changed items rather than every single map every week. (iirc they changed the leather quantities/types, but most other weeks were unaffecte)
if the source data obtained from that method is useful to anyone, https://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Widget%3AMap_bonus_rewards&action=edit has the lookup table that produces https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Template:Map_bonus_reward_profit

oh its 512 byte chunks
it sort of pipes through a file in chunks of 512 bytes, changing the state of its vectors, and at the end outputs that vector
I just wonder how they influence this in such a way
that they can create arbirtrary hashes
do they include a carefully crafted block somehow
such that it "reverses" the effects of all following iterations of SHA
