now i know where all the downloads come from
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:04
lol
from half a year ago?
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:04
at leas one source
but there's been a raise in downloads in the past week
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:05
ah
maybe just an update that you did?
would be nice if you can track the dependents on your library
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:06
well, you can - as long they're listed on packagist
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:06
ah fair
that's not me alone
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:06
i think github has something like dependencies and dependents as well
but it might only be git submodules instead
haha, seems your master branch is popular
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:08
(see readme :D)
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:09
ah fair
still, personally i would probably use a version instead of master :P
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:10
you can use relase too ofc... but people seem to prefer copy/paste
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:11
true :D
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:14
tested with PHP 5.4(.45) and 5.6(.24)
this is depressing... PHP5 is EOL
so they took my library and made it php 5.4 compatible...
meanwhile... codemasher/php-qrcode@16e889d
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:17
:D
well tbf, 5.6 still has security patches
funny how that support for 7.0 ends earlier... http://php.net/supported-versions.php
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:19
5.6 has extended support because its the last 5.x release
7.0 in contrary is in the regular (shorter) release cycle
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:20
fair
community has been slow adapting php7 i think
although, i wouldn't really know as i haven't used php that much
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:21
it's a bit of a task to migrate bigger projects as some functions change etc.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:21
yeah
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:21
but noone should start a new project supporting 5.x
(or backport stuff to support 5.x)
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:22
agreed
if a version has reached end of support, don't use it :P
(and here i am, still waiting for python to phase out version 2)
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:23
haha
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:24
basically windows xp :D
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:25
i came across a package the other day that had to compile stuff using python
since i have just 1 pc with windows, i do this stuff on windows as well
i have python 3.6 i think...
totally incompatible, it required python 2
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:26
(i managed to avoid python at all until now)
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:26
well, okay then, bye bye package!
it baffles me that people still create stuff in python 2
just. let. it. die. already.
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:27
people backport to php 5.4...
5.4 is 9 years old?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:28
possibly
the only reason why i would ever drop versions, is when i depend on something else that doesn't support newer versions
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:28
someone should tell them that you can almost cross copy php7/ecmascript6 hehehe
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:28
and when i can't find an alternative in a reasonable amount of time
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:29
well, there's no reason at all to stay on old php versions except "compatibility"
fuck compatibility
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:29
haha
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:29
fuck technical debt
there are so many libs around still supporting php5.3 (!)
looking at that code makes me cringe
some even with old php4 style classes (method w/classname = constructor)
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:34
first time i did something with php, it was 10 years ago or something
back then i avoided php4
XD
smiley
@codemasher
Feb 27 2017 00:35
yea, better... haha
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 00:35

@darthmaim
Feb 27 2017 05:29
Slow
We haven't done much in the last few weeks
But I think/hope I should have more time for it later this week
Hopefully that will motivate @Archomeda again when I do stuff
:P
And thanks @codemasher :P

@Eearslya
Feb 27 2017 05:42
Maybe now that the website I was making for work is pretty much done, I'll have more motivation for other projects
(For some reason, doing web dev professionally killed all my drive for personal projects D:)
Michael Dougall
@madou
Feb 27 2017 05:45
lolz i had the opposite, personal projects killed my drive for work ones

I blame CSS. Fighting CSS for 4 hours at work does not make me excited to go home and fight CSS for 4 hours. XP

@darthmaim
Feb 27 2017 05:47
That's the nice thing about open source, there are others that can do the CSS for you
darn thing's not even live yet
I wanna use my own GitLab server, but all the fancy third-party tools consider any GitLab repo to be private and require money ;;

found it \o/

Feb 27 2017 14:56
i'm having an issue running something in docker... after a while it loses internet connection... blah
pretty sure i've had this issue before, and pretty sure it's my firewall doing stuff and overwriting the docker rules
but i don't know how to solve it argh
Darrian
@rikkuness
Feb 27 2017 14:58
yah you can't feck with iptables after Docker has already put the SNAT rules in there, unless your firewall does smart things and doesn't just flush and reapply rules
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 15:00
oh well, this time it actually can't create the network lol
Darrian
@rikkuness
Feb 27 2017 15:01
you can stop docker from using iptables but that'll then require a bit more config to do the networking sensibly
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 15:01
ERROR: unable to insert jump to DOCKER-ISOLATION rule in FORWARD chain: (iptables failed: iptables --wait -I FORWARD -j DOCKER-ISOLATION: iptables v1.4.21: Couldn't load target `DOCKER-ISOLATION':No such file or directory
Darrian
@rikkuness
Feb 27 2017 15:01
yeah I think that chain is added on daemon start
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 15:01
sigh
Darrian
@rikkuness
Feb 27 2017 15:01
if it got flushed you'd probably need to restart the docker daemon to get it back, at least that's the fastest way
you could probably manually hack them back in there to keep service but it's hit and miss haha
there's 2 default chains DOCKER and DOCKER-ISOLATION, DOCKER is the one that stores all the SNAT rules and such for mapping ports out the host
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 16:12
well, apf is doing a full reload every day, and i'm pretty sure that's resetting the iptables rules every time
for now i just added a restart for the docker service in the same file
Darrian
@rikkuness
Feb 27 2017 16:16
hacky, love it xD
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 16:16
well, i've had this issue before, and i thought i fixed it
but apparently not
now it's just a full hacky mode because i don't know how to fix it otherwise
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 16:32
would be better if docker had a command to reapply the iptables rules
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 16:43
oh, another example of the guild logs being broken ingame
--------- deposited x1 into Processing
--------- deposited x1 into Processing
--------- deposited x1 into Processing
etc
i removed the name
the api mentions upgrade_id = 505
but no item_id
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Feb 27 2017 16:48
Guild Arrow Cart Blueprints
Aren't those deployed from the guild menu now? Not an item?
Oh, wait, you said in-game. Ooh.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Feb 27 2017 17:39
yeah :P
i mean, the game can at least show ------- deposited Guild Arrow Cart x1 into Processing or something
