Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:00
but now i see that's impossible with this example
nah, I've got type meaning the hardcoded method of upgrade (either Attuned or Infused)
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 00:00
Probably fractal (original) too
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:01
right, type is method type, not item type
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 00:02
So what does it say for a dropped infused ring? Just that it was upgraded?
dropped infused rings?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:03
i think having it duplicated in flags will prove useful, since rings can be both attuned and infused; and you'll have to check all upgrade_from methods to see if it's both attuned and infused, since i think there will be 2 recipes listed
upgrades aren't really a thing; normal/infused/attuned/infused+attuned are all totally separate unrelated items
@Archomeda yeah, that's fair.
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 00:04
Fractals drop infused rings nowadays
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:04
@windwarrior a dropped infused ring is the same as a ring you've infused yourself manually
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 00:04
Yeah guess so
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:04
they are separate items :P
not infused vs infused items i mean
it's not like an item that you bind to a ring, like infusions
(which for some reason still can't be linked in chat argh)
(and stat choosy items for that matter)
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 00:06
It's just not in the chat link format
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:06
i know ^^
JC123
@JC123
May 19 2017 00:07
why cant they be linked?
the chat link format doesn't support infusions IIRC
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:07
i mean included in the item link itself
there just aren't any bits in it
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:07
@JC123 if you link an armor piece that's stat choosy and/or has infusions, those don't show up in the chat link
and no they don't, sadly :(
funny when you ask people to link their gear to check if they have the right stuff, only for the stats to not show up :P
not gonna fix that because that's how i get past gear checks in raid groups
JC123
@JC123
May 19 2017 00:09
:joy:
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:09
hahaha :smile:
seems there's space for additions, with the way it's set up :D
but, that's for other people to fix, it's not part of the api really; i derailed the conversation again
JC123
@JC123
May 19 2017 00:15
found a weird new executable file that my script caught that went live last night
turns out its the native mac client lol
guess its getting close
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:15
would be great for mac users
i think they've been on it for at least a year now?
oh, there's another patch lol
Pat Cavit
@tivac
May 19 2017 00:17
@JC123 how do you stumble onto that?
(not denying we're working on it, Mo's said as much on reddit)
JC123
@JC123
May 19 2017 00:18
my bad if you wanted it to be a secret lol
Darqam
@Darqam
May 19 2017 00:18
pretty sure Mike said they were getting close to a stable thing in the latest AMA
Pat Cavit
@tivac
May 19 2017 00:18
yeah
just curious what you're digging into that turned it up
JC123
@JC123
May 19 2017 00:19
the exes go in order x86 > x64 > now mac
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:21
yeah...
try files 1697311, 1697312 and 1697313
JC123
@JC123
May 19 2017 00:22
indeed
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:22
okay i've actually never seen an osx application in a hex editor
are they packaged or something?
like an archive file
OSX applications are .dmg's right? I was under the impression they were self-contained disk images
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:25
dunno
also the latest subpath for osx works now
JC123
@JC123
May 19 2017 00:25
wasnt sure if i should post it lol but you got it
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:26
well.... hmm
let me rework that
JC123
@JC123
May 19 2017 00:26
looks like a pax archive with a Gw64 mac exe and libs for coherent and what not
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:27
i tried that url a month (or two) ago i think, didn't work back then
i would assume testing is now being done on live too
JC123
@JC123
May 19 2017 00:28
it just started being sent last night (76833)
LauncherOSX has been in the manifest for a long while though
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:29
yeah, that's true
but i guess running it didn't work yet because it can't patch without that url working
actually, i don't know if the client ignores a 404
for latest
JC123
@JC123
May 19 2017 00:31
pretty sure it will crash iirc
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:31
maybe the famous "connection error(s) detected" that makes my cpu spike to 100% and the client to freeze
oh well; i don't have a mac myself anyway
JC123
@JC123
May 19 2017 00:34
same just happened to see it when looking at updated files
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 00:36
it's interesting, and amazing to see how it's slowly getting ready
from the first message in an AMA about that the mac client being finally able to patch, but crash before character select; to eventually a full functioning client :D

@madou
May 19 2017 04:27
does the api skill data have stun breaking info?
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 10:13
pretty sure it doesnt
at least Head Butt doesnt list it
same goes for Elixir S
Darrian
@rikkuness
May 19 2017 12:11
do any of you lovely souls have nice drop-in for popovers for skills/items?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 13:03
what happened to the HoM calculator? :O
it's out of beta apparently
Darqam
@Darqam
May 19 2017 13:23
wooooah
I think db.dulfy has pretty good popovers for items
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 14:02
@Archomeda probably someone annoyed by the monthly reddit reminder and finally grepped the code for "beta"
Archomeda
@Archomeda
May 19 2017 14:03
according to a friend of mine who was dugging into the javascript code a few months back, there are definitely a few changes
Edgar Doiron
@Coffee4cr
May 19 2017 14:14
GW1 remastered is just around the corner
smiley
@codemasher
May 19 2017 14:40
pretty please!
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 14:42
not worth the effort imo :P
focus on GW2, let GW1 live in our nostalgia
smiley
@codemasher
May 19 2017 14:43
how about no?
we all know there's nothing that comes close to the genius of GW1 :D
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 14:44
I think GW2 is way more revolutionary
GW1 is basically an RPG that you could play with a few friends
smiley
@codemasher
May 19 2017 14:45
infinite laughter
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 14:45
GW2 is an MMO
smiley
@codemasher
May 19 2017 14:45
it's an average casual MMO, yes.
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 14:48
traversing the world and the combat system of GW2 are cool. GW1 had more build diversity... but also was kinda bloated with skills. As much as I can not agree about balance and viabilities of skills/traits I think -me personally- would prefer a system akin to GW2 with limited options but a more balanced whole.
Rather have limiting options, but closer together; Then infinite options with a few "broken builds" everyone plays
smiley
@codemasher
May 19 2017 14:49
you might want to play wildstar then ;)
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 14:49
I did, I think the combat system is great
smiley
@codemasher
May 19 2017 14:50
lemme guess, it was the "comic style" that didn't appeal to you?
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 14:50
no, not even. It was a step backwards in so many ways. Weapons that have no influence on skills, a traditional trinity, need and greed system
smiley
@codemasher
May 19 2017 14:51
it's quite similar to GW2 and one of the things that i dislike, too. but on the other hand, all the classes are fun to play, which i can't say about GW2.
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 14:52
well the telegraph system is far superior. But for me personally it took too much of traditional MMOs
which GW2 completely threw out of the window
smiley
@codemasher
May 19 2017 14:52
and i prefer the trinity over the mess that is GW2 healing any time.
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 15:00
well GW2 healing is something you spec for
and actually are a lot of ways to do
but the cool thing for me is that you dont actually need too much healing
because mitigation is such a thing in GW2 PvE
like if you dont screw up, you can bring condi druids to raids mostly for their buffs
@Archomeda @Darqam RE: flags, upgrades_from, upgrades_into: gist/lye/40173e9a2a1bf6b04e05920dc2f8e861
GITTER WHY
Anyway that's what I came up with last night
Darqam
@Darqam
May 19 2017 17:58
OOooo I'd be happy with that
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
May 19 2017 18:06
Wait, you can upgrade from infused..to infused? Or was that just thrown in as example?
uhh that's the current output
{
    "flags" : [ "Infused" ],
    "upgrades_from" : [ { "item_id" : 42, "type" : "Infused" } ]
}
might be better expressed as
{
    "flags" : [ "Infused" ],
    "upgrades_from" : [ { "item_id" : 42, "type" : "Infusion" } ]
}
the intent is that item_id=42, when Infused, creates the item that has the upgrades_from entry.
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
May 19 2017 18:08
Oh, so the upgrades_from[].item_id is meant to be the base ring
yeah.
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
May 19 2017 18:09
What about the items with both attune and infusion?
those will have two upgrades_from entries -- one infusing the attuned version, one attuning the infused version
    "upgrades_from": [
      {
        "upgrade": "Infused",
        "item_id": 79033
      },
      {
        "upgrade": "Attuned",
        "item_id": 79111
      }
]
in the gist

:point_up: May 19, 2017 1:07 AM I've got a chat link with an infusion here. https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/items?ids=37103
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 18:22
looks pretty good
but I wonder whether this works for the backend for every item
for example, the precursor to Ad Infinitum
or Spinal Blades (lws1 backpiece) that can also be colored
This only works for infusion/attunement mystic forge recipes that use the standard ingredients for rings/backs
If there are ways to attune/infuse that don't use the standard ingredients then those recipes won't be picked up
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 18:23
okay ^^
yeah makes sense
I just know there are some odd recipes out there
but come to think about that, thats mostly backpieces
in my YT suggests: someone who engi afk farmed for an hour and recorded it
... sounds fun
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 18:36
oh @lye, did you see that stunbreak skills don't actually list that they stunbreak in the API
not sure if intended
uguuu can you open an issue for that?
they might have added a new fact type or something that I need to write a serializer for
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 18:42
I sure can
#528
Thanks :heart:
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 18:46
I spent so much time extracting the skill id from the chatcode
can someone make a chatcode2api tool, thx

Wiki's got it somewhere
Nabrok
@Nabrok
May 19 2017 18:49
I have something I wrote a while back ...
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 18:50
I ended up doing something like struct.unpack('2<', base64.b64decode("chatlink_without_controlcharacters")[1:3])
I wanted to make a PR for the item upgrade stuff there for ages...
ahrg gitter
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 18:58
think so too, but I end up using random python shells to do the math for me
darthmaim
@darthmaim
May 19 2017 18:58
thats missing all the upgrade/skin too
smiley
@codemasher
May 19 2017 18:58
PR welcome :P
Michael Dougall
@madou
May 19 2017 23:00
@lye since it looks like items have different stats in an environment (condition sigil in pvp for example) how are we gonna expose this data? another field on the item?
Darqam
@Darqam
May 19 2017 23:06
don't those already have a pvp version of the item?
is there a separate PvP item for sigils/runes? I feel like there might be but am not sure
There's /v2/pvp/amulets but not /v2/pvp/{runes,sigils}, might be reasonable to implement the latter two
If that sounds good open an issue :heart:
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 23:56
I dont know whether they are actual items
but the sigils got reworked and are completetly diff from PvE now
they're totally items
but they might re-use the PvE items by switching the buff based on game mode, I'm not sure
I definitely remember there being (PvP) sigils+runes though, not sure if that's what's currently used
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 23:57
some of the sigils dont have a PvE counterpart
the new ones that is
hmm they're not showing up on http://db.dulfy.net/search/pvp
windwarrior
@windwarrior
May 19 2017 23:59
yeah cant seem to find a chatcode either
they are separate items though
