eh... this suggests that wvw scoring is broken?
(not directly related to the API though)
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 17:29
270 point difference..they would've had to kill 100 players in those ~20 seconds
that did not work nope
apparently some markdowns support ![](./pic/pic1_50.png =100x20)
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 17:33
i was trying to find the right dimensions to try that too :joy:
doesn't work :P

ah well

The kills and deaths shown ingame are also bugged in many matchups(API seems to be ok though).

is it really possible to get 10k points in one skirmish?
max tick is what? 360?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 17:37
(i found https://rsz.io/ in the mean time :P)
smiley
@codemasher
Jun 27 2017 17:37
And a skirmish is an hour with five minute ticks = ... 12 ticks?
@Eearslya I mean anything is possible with PPK
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 17:38
hmm
Also crap does the .scores only count the current skirmish?
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 17:38
no no no
I think there's some other field for it
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 17:38
that was from a skirmish object
wat
what's the match id?
I mean looking at http://i.imgur.com/wx8lX8d.jpg 10k seems reasonable
Archomeda
@Archomeda

weird
the KDR doesn't seem to be heavily skewed
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 17:40
check skirmish ids 32 to 39
there are even 13k+ scores for green
        {
          "type": "GreenHome",
          "scores": {
            "red": 1033,
            "blue": 786,
            "green": 6729
          }
        }
that seems a bit high
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 17:42
or skirmish 36:
        {
          "type": "GreenHome",
          "scores": {
            "red": 1237,
            "blue": 625,
            "green": 7496
          }
        }
7496 points on 1 map in 1 skirmish?
what is the max tick score for a borderlands map?
i lost track of that ever since the increased ppt were added for objectives that are held for a longer period of time
dunno; 3 keeps + 4 towers + 6 camps
oh does ppt go up?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 17:43
oh
130 ppt max I think
2 hours / 5 minutes = 24 ticks, 24*130 = 3120
Edgar Doiron
@Coffee4cr
Jun 27 2017 17:45
isn't it 380 the maximum PPT?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 17:47
6 camps x 5 ppt + 4 towers x 10 ppt + 3 keeps x 20 ppt = 130 ppt
@Coffee4cr overall maybe, but this is just on one BL
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 17:47
130 is indeed the max ppt you can get on one borderlands, if your server owned all of the objectives and has maxed out everything
7496 - 3120 = 4376 remaining points by kills alone
that means 36.46 points by kills per minute

Killing a hostile dolyak is worth 1 point, while escorting a friendly delivering dolyak provides 1 point at each destination.
that's a thing too?
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 17:50
13730 new record
(I should write a jsfiddle for this but lazy)
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 17:50
okay so, 36.46 points by player OR dolly kills per minute
or does escorting a dolly give 1 point too? i thought it only adds 1 point to the objective upgrades
killing that amount of players and dollies combined, is almost impossible
12 player kills per minute is the minimum a server needs if bloodlust is active, and they are stomping every player (killing dollies excluded)
we've got our top men looking into it

i can see lye running from his pc, going up or down a few floors, searching the nearest wvw dev from their pc, grabbing them and faceplanting them into the screen with the wvw scores
that probably didn't happen though :P
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 17:56
LOOK AT THIS
YOU SEE THIS? IT'S FUCKING WRONG
lye becomes gordon ramsey
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 17:58
well, at least having this new wvw scoring panel & the api exposes these probable bugs
without those, you can only notice something odd, but can't tell if there's something wrong or if it's just you
is the k/d ratio per skirmish also available? or was it only the match total?
on the api
Eearslya Sleiarion

Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 18:05
i just thought of something
is it possible to have a point_distribution property that contains a list of all earned points by source?
for a skirmish?
like
[
  {
    "source": "player kill",
    "count": 13,
    "points": 26
  },
  {
    "source": "tier 3 keep",
    "count": 6,
    "points": 180
  }
]
sadly have to differentiate player stomps with bloodlust from player kills
since those are worth +1 point
Eearslya Sleiarion

https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/6jsoa0/wvw_scoring_accuracy/djh3eju/

This was the result of an extremely rare bug that created "ghost" maps of the green Borderlands in a default state, generating additional points for all teams, but favoring the green team. In the short term, those "ghost" maps have been terminated, while we take steps to prevent this from happening again.

yeah was just about to say that the reddit thread has been updated

hmm nevermind, i guess this is the normal pattern
kind of makes sense that request volume goes up during EU primetime
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 20:21
Is that a 15 minute request cycle from gw2e?
I think so? I don't know the details of gw2e's request patterns
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 20:22
fascinating
Noon to 6am...Does it really take 18 hours to crawl all the accounts? Good god.
yeah it does
it takes a lot of requests to crawl an account, and there's a lot of accounts
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 20:23

windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 20:31
Maybe you should map those 18 hours around prime
So don't crawl like 18:00—midnight
David Reeß
@queicherius
Jun 27 2017 20:32
I'm currently running 32 worker nodes, but I have capacity for roughly 2x that, so should still be fine for a while (as long as lye doesnt hit me for the request load)
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 20:34
How visible is it where data comes from, like Texas vs Frankfurt
Is there a way of knowing in which of the two (/three) districts an account is in
David Reeß
@queicherius
Jun 27 2017 20:36
The algorithm for that is actually way simpler, it just grabs X api keys that did not get updated in the last day, ordered by update date (so the oldest ones / not crawled ones come first), every 15 minutes, and distributes them across the nodes
And X in that case is bascially what all the nodes can manage to work through spread across 24 hours - 20%ish for when shit hits the fan
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 20:38
Yeah expected that, but since you are probably a significant part of the requests, I was more thinking about not hammering the API when it is prime time
David Reeß
@queicherius
Jun 27 2017 20:38
So the little grap is basically what i call "bullshit buffer", in case it goes wrong
And the timing is more or less random, it's done when its done. The start/end changes everytime when I do a deploy that takes down the workers (e.g. for account value)
Or when things crash :(
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 20:39
Like making your period-to-period workload dependent on how prime time that slot is
But probably finding a solution to an nonexistent problem
David Reeß
@queicherius
Jun 27 2017 20:40
I could do that, but as long as lye says it's ok I wanna keep that part as simple as possible
I had a very sophisticated method before, and it used to break all the time
(because I am bad at programming)
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 20:41
No-one can program
Literally no-one
David Reeß
@queicherius
Jun 27 2017 20:42
That said, if it wouldnt take 70+ requests per account, everything would be wayyy easier
Hint hint nudge nudge
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 20:46
I think you have fairly uncommon API requirements
Not many can say that they are scraping 100k accounts daily :p
Eearslya Sleiarion

            "green": 2033
          }
        }

looks way better than

        {
          "type": "GreenHome",
          "scores": {
            "red": 1549,

I knew 13k was a bit much
well, i know the answers of all of them but one
the mastery points...
how does one get 293 or 288 mastery points with accounts <120h played
probably dev accounts
like with GM powers or something

@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 22:22
which one?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:22
6 guilds is because of desert borderlands stress test issue i believe
Eearslya Sleiarion

Jun 27 2017 22:22
I still have a broken guild because of that, and I'm never getting rid of it :D
i don't think it was borderlands stress test

Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 22:22
Asura Master Race [] best guild
i'm pretty sure it's a dev account and they shouldn't have put an API key into gw2e >_>
Archomeda

Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 22:24
no clue
guilds are cross-branch, but the tag is branch-specific
so you're in a guild on the PTT branch but that guild doesn't have a tag for the live branch
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:25

is Asura Master Race actually the guild name? lol
Archomeda
@Archomeda

yes XD 010CD5EB-5956-E511-AB13-E4115BDFC985

I think it did when the guilds API first released XD
I swear I mentioned it in here once
Archomeda

possibly?
@Eearslya that's probably why it sometimes displays a tag then
Something is resolving the wrong guild
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:30
i'm sure we discussed this a while back, so it's possible you mentioned it back then

oh, that was for @Eearslya
Eearslya Sleiarion
@Eearslya
Jun 27 2017 22:31
I think I broke the API with my guild 'cause it didn't like the missing tag or something
I can't remember, and that's a lot of backlog to scroll through to search damnyougitter

Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:31

that should just returned undefined
Archomeda
@Archomeda

i'm curious now though, which mastery points ids those accounts have extra
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 22:43

Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:44

because unreleased stuff is probably not in the (live) backends
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:44
well, the mastery point ids is just flags as far as i understand
not that it actually resolves to anything on the api, if it isn't released
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 22:45
oh right its one of those funky bitarrays
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:45
well, bits rather than flags
yeah, /v2/account/mastery/points
but there's that list that alex got from someone
again, not that you would get something useful out of that, but still interesting
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 22:47
the game keeps giving me force sigils on my ele
is the game trying to tell me something ;_;
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:53
can't seem to find that list on the wiki anymore
probably burried in history at this point
@windwarrior yeah, and the bitarray gets packed into a single 1 if all bits are set, which I think is what the /unlockallmasterypoints or whatever command does
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:55
well, rip my search capabilities
actually, there doesn't seem to be more than a few extra on that list
oh well then
JC123
@JC123
Jun 27 2017 22:56
theres a couple legit ones missing on that list too
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 22:56
ah right, so those "max masteries" are just usages of the command that unlocks all, and the array happens to have a max length of some high number
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:57
ah fair

nah the mastery points all have ids, so the code does

foreach (mastery point) {
    if (account.has(mastery point.id)) {
        total points += 1
    }
}

so if an account has all mastery point bits, then it has all of them that exist in content (rather than an arbitrary number)

Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:58
is that an array or a set for that .has?
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 22:58
funky pseudo code
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 22:58
otherwise O(n²) complexity, ouch
it's kind of a bit array
the bit array gets packed into a boolean if all bits are set
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 22:59
but, is that to save space or time
because you kinda need to remember that you packed it, no?

jeez, had to edit that a few times, i'm rusty with that time complexity notation

like, if you have a struct with that bit array or boolean, how would you know what the offset is of the next field
@windwarrior it's prefixed with the type (bit or bitarray or counter)

afaik it's to save space when we discussed it with SAB unlocks
i'm skeptical that it saves much space, but it probably saves some
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 23:02
but, it's also one-way to set all, right? so, it's kind of dangerous to do that
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 23:02
well you have two ways of representing "all" now
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 23:02
oh well, i don't know the ins and outs, so i can't really say that
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 23:02
which can get inconsistent for example when you unset a bit
oh yeah definetely, dont know ins and outs either
but I dont know, sounds fishy to me
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 23:03
i guess there were reasons to do it this way :P
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 23:03
but then again, C's unions sound fishy to me too
I like my things to have fixed size and fixed type

hmm, i guess it's fair to assume that a command to unlock all masteries has been used on those 2 accounts, given the <120h playtime
plus, core mastery points are both the same, while maguuma mastery points differ

if that command was used a while back, and it sets the boolean to unlock all of them, it makes sense that new mastery points get auto-unlocked as well without having to execute the command again
but i suppose in order for the data to update (either server and/or api), someone has to log in on that account again

so i guess the #2 hasn't been used for a while
@windwarrior you can't unset bits
:)

I was discussing with a colleague/teacher how to go about formally proving his Red/Black-tree implementation
and there are a lot of corner cases that you have to consider always
JC123
@JC123
Jun 27 2017 23:10
@Archomeda do they have ids set that arent on that list?
@windwarrior #include <sys/tree.h> problem solved
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 23:11
actually.... since there's only 5 points difference, and that there was only one patch that added 5 points... i guess both accounts haven't been used for a while
that release that added 5 new maguuma points was ep3
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Jun 27 2017 23:11
which probably also isn't verified :P

@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 23:12
i'm just assuming things by reasoning :smile:
also... https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mastery_point_unlocks#Heart_of_Maguuma_mastery_points says that there are 191 points available... #3 and onwards on gw2e have 185...
i'm fairly certain that there are people that have all the points unlocked... then why doesn't this add up
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 23:18
the table has 184 entries, which is correct if you take the hidden mastery point from that event into account... it adds up to 185

weird
So someone miscounted when writing the article?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Jun 27 2017 23:19
well, if my counting is correct (which involves just copying the <tbody> html element and counting the <tr> elements)
it's calculated through wiki expressions
There are {{mastery point|{{#expr:{{#ask: [[Gives mastery track region point::{{{1|+}}}]] | format = count | default = 0 }} {{#switch: {{{1|}}} | Central Tyria = - 14 | Heart of Maguuma = + 1}} }}|region={{{1}}}}} {{{1}}} points available.
that ask query might give false positives

also, regarding the ask query for the mastery points, my chrome console says:

> Object.values(json.query.results).length
< 184

so... why does the wiki say 191 if it's literally doing the same ask query? (it's 190+1 because of the explicit +1, since that one isn't mentioned in the ask query but it's valid)

it's probably something @ChieftainAlex has an answer on

@codemasher oh, that's the app that uses your stuff?
