well, clicking a tab brings up all items immediately for me
which it used to take like 5 seconds
IIRC there's some new trickery where the manifest is generated at build-time rather than being sent via network request

might only be the gfx programmer in me, but on "larger" interface size setting in the new gemstore when you mouse hover over one of the smaller item icons in the new dropdown menus (in the 3x3 grid), the image gets blurry while highlighted and a lot of the ui dances around a bit by half a pixel or so, noticeably getting distorted - it bugs the hell out of me :)
the UI doesn't work very well with non-default UI sizes
it's an engine problem

i play on "larger" and yeah it's a bit blurrier (to be expected), but it's the first time i saw something like this - figured it's an oversight in the new window, it seems like the highlighted item's size isn't scaled the same as the non-highlighted version

@BoyC just deployed the /v2/commerce/delivery hopeful fix
This moves the summarization into the backend servers (rather than doing it on the API server) which hopefully should reduce the time enough to not time out
If that doesn't work, the only real solution is to make the endpoint paginated (and not do summarization)

The annoying bit is that the stored procedure on the DB doesn't summarize, so -- though that'd be the optimal fix -- it's no something I can feasibly do

well for TacO, any change in the delivery data is enough, I only use it as a way of telling if the data changed since the user last clicked on the tp icon
so even if the data is paginated, it'd be pretty much perfect for me
but i wasn't the one to originally request the endpoint ;)

we had our servers written in c# for some odd reason, and so everything was running on windows, except the website itself of course
deploying a new build basically meant people remote desktoping into the servers and copying stuff by hand
it... didn't always go well.
we have a magical bit that watches p4 for changes and pushes the changes out automatically
then the changes get deployed once you press a button to select the build to deploy (that's already pushed out)
I believe the game systems work the same way, roughly
they're a bit more involved because the orchestration works in a different way

yeah i guess old version servers need to be rotated out so the game is kept online
(the game systems can run concurrent builds, whereas the other half of the stuff can't -- we have two different setups for distributed systems)
it's actually better than that; you can run servers newer than what most people have installed
you just need the newer client to connect to 'em

let me find a couple screenshots
the thing about TacO is, that for Perpetuum we wanted to write a whole new client because the UI was mainly hardcoded and we ran into issues of scaling the UI (sound familiar, right?), so I started writing a completely new UI engine based on xml and css that'd be perfect for it
the new client never went anywhere, but the UI engine is mostly complete, so I used it for the GW2 overlay, which is why it's not open source :)

I was actually just ranting over lunch about how I really would like a HTML+CSS renderer that I could tie to whatever (e.g. maybe not javascript) and render in-game
like there's servo's stuff but I'm not sure how easily that's divorced from everything else
and webkit is frankly a mess
