This is driving me nuts. I'm fairly certain that the "training" tab backgrounds from the hero panel are in the dat, and I think they're 1024x1024 (because I've cropped some previously and they ended up at 660x680). Having looked in the Generic texture, UI texture, DDS, + Map texture folders i can't see them today ><

there's some new proficiency icons I spotted on the beta streams which are on the spec pane, but they aren't in my dat yet
so not looking for next week's mega update
kinda peeved because somehow I've previously extracted everything minus the thief and warrior images :D

i probably shouldn't extract all textures... it's probably in the UI folder
let's extract that first haha
i'm still working on a personal .dat reader or something similar; i want to include a feature that allows me to tag files
still far from being finished
i'm kinda glad i managed to fix that bug in gw2browser's decompression algorithm myself

it just zeros out the file
after a certain point

so, in case of textures, they might be corrupted files
but as i said, it seldom appears
i've only had a few cases in hundreds of thousands of files
and they were mostly the manifest files actually
which you normally don't need
well, for yourself; obviously the client needs it

it... kinda grew out that way
i wanted to understand the dat file first, and then i just decided, well why not make it
especially because apparently the way i wrote my file viewer, was easy enough to have it adapted to the dat file :smile:
didn't realise the spec images were in the api tbh
I should have taken a look at gw2armory i guess
now to make it available for people creating marker packs :)

it's constant for these trails
the point being that this way it follows the terrain exactly
and the data is stored in binary format instead of an xml

i really hope to get the scripting part up and running before the year is over and get it into the hand of the rp community to create stories
like if an npc stands in one place all the time but doesn't have a talk option, taco could "add" one, and the npc could "send" you on missions
