@lye Just wanted to shout out and say THANK YOU for getting the API back up (at least the /v2/continent endpoint). Also, I'm curious - has anyone else come up with any workarounds for the render service not having the latest map tiles? I was debating try to capture from the game client and stitch together, but I can't disable POIs on the in-game map as far as I know...

The effect is the same tho, since the account value cant be calculated without, so it's blank there - and that is the page with the most traffic. People don't care if only part *of the API is broke, people care if that one single page is working (i noticed)

@Eearslya it's an acquired taste, but once you're used to it it's not bad at all.

You have to get a handle on the schedule so you're not waiting forever, and you have to bring some in-transit activities (books, nds, w/e)
(and I guess you have to get a handle on the route so you don't miss your stop)

@shawngmc FWIW, I should have the tiles updated by the end of the week.

There's a bug in the tile generator (with the new map size) that causes it to infinitely loop for some reason (??) and I accidentially filled a 2TB drive with bad tiles overnight.

adblocker-blockers are the worst thing.

@codemasher consider running NoScript -- it's pretty good at making the web simple again.

i usually let inline/1st-party scripts execute, but that triggered the adblocker detection on mashable
so i forbid all scripts and the site works perfectly fine :D

when i made my wvw map back in the day i only used zoom levels from 3 to 7
with this change you'd have to update it to be 4-8 instead of 3-7
which is kind of gross

the pvp map is on zoom 6 the same display size as tyria on 7
the zoom levels were different because tyria used to be twice the x/y size
so now tyria on 8 will be like pvp on 6 - so why not just bump pvp from 2-8?
so you could swap maps in the same container while maintaining the same zoom level
so you're saying I should force both to 7 then
(rather than forcing tyria to 7 and the mists to 6)

Given @codemasher 's plan, you could technically place them side-by-side on the same map
you could do it before, but you'd have to fiddle with the zoom levels since the zoom levels didn't match up
(e.g. the 1:1 zoom was 7 on tyria, 6 on the mists, and it was annoying)
