my study associations website has multilang too, every now and then we receive an email cursing that our website is "Dutch", because someone found an obscure page somewhere that didn't have

multilang is one of those things you need to think of from the start
our site was made in 2007, multilang added around 2013 or so
and we are ever since finding untranslated strings
we created a website through which some players we validated beforehand could work on translations
we just have quite a lot to translate for the volunteers we are
if they wanted a certain language supported, they banded together and did it :)
yeah, no translation was complete on our end either :D
minecraft is translated by volunteers I think
I remember there was a whole repo of some sort for minecraft
there are so many mistakes
for example, we had the dutch word "Publiek" without context in translations. Depending on the context, it could either mean "audience", or "public"
i'm mostly annoyed by the words in our language that are combined from 2 or more words
we write them as one word in dutch, but in english you still write them separately
and like 80%+ of the dutch people don't even understand it
which makes stuff like gettext quite bad, because it assumes that a single string has one translation regardless of context
imo it's bad to use a translated word in more than one place
also, I play on english
so I dont often have translation issues :P
we just finished gorseval when suddenly people dc'd :D
and now one person still can't login, and he was the one who got a ghostly infusion
so i'm blaming him
