the funny thing is, when you code a library like this, you get to see a lot of weird things from the different providers...

related: is anyone willing and able to write/test a facebook adapter for me? (because i'm not willing to register with fb just for this)

@codemasher I really hate what trello did with the docs, it used to be really good, and they've changed the entire layout/formatting of it, and I can't find shit anymore

yea, it's kinda... underwhelming. twitter on the other hand updated their docs recently and they're surprisingly good (well, better than before)

that's nice
yeah i'm glad I did my trello app before their changes, cause I wouldn't want to navigate it now
do they still have their sandbox?

uhh, haven't checked for that. also, i hate these :D
they do
I liked it for testing my shit

that's a nice toy for people who don't want to bother with the underlying code i guess

well it made it quicker to test certain calls to see the results. and seeing which filter to use

i mean, if i have a working oauth lib, why on earth would i want a toy that simulates the responses?

i dunno, for me it was helpful while I made my dashboard
oh in your case yeah
I was just mentionning for me
:P

heh, that's ok
but i'd rather have comprehensive docs than toys

I use trello at work to spread the work to the entire dev team.

and then I built a dashboard so that the project managers and financing team could use to charge the client for our work

smiley
@codemasher
Oct 27 2017 14:28
but that requires an ouath client, right? and that's what i'm writing :D
Edgar Doiron

Oct 27 2017 14:29
well it uses the trelloapi.js to connect?
I think
let me go check it's been so long

i mean, these sandboxes are nice when you write an app that uses the API, but is literally no help when you write an oauth wrapper

Trello.authorize({
  type: "redirect",
  name: "Trello dashboard",
  scope: {
    read: true,
    write: false
  },
  expiration: "never",
  error: function() {
    console.log("Failed authentication");
  }
});
I have this in my code

@codemasher
Oct 27 2017 14:30
yea, trello has several clients
also for php i think
i think google has the only sandbox that also simulates the background request between server/API
which is the only thing that's of interest for me
but then again... var_dump(...); exit;does basically the same :D

yahoo: " * accessToken";s:1204:
guess yahoo's principle is: the longer, the more secure

game: count the number of clicks until you find the correct required scope https://developer.yahoo.com/social/rest_api_guide/
the hardest part of writing an oauth wrapper is not figuring out how oauth works, but the provider's docs

@lye has something been changed about wvw kills/deaths around oct 10?
not to my knowledge
has it been acting wonky?

not totally sure, but kills seem to update very irregularly. it looks like it sometimes takes > 30m to update (i see many 30m-slots with 0 kills/deaths in my tracker). could still be my tracker, but it has been working flawlessly since january and i checked it over and over again in the last weeks..
this is a match from the oct-10 week: http://kills.werdes.net/?match=462
it's not totally game breaking, the kill numbers still make sense, it just looked odd to me
those numbers are generated from accumulating event log data, which doesn't have any delivery guarentees
so it's likely our internal network is just congested and the event log data is taking time to propagate :(

i guess i'll live with that then, no big deal :sweat_smile:
thanks anyways :heart:
@darthmaim can you please teach @QuagganBooOOoot to accept /xkcd:<number>?
