That forum post reminded me, @lye :point_up: 17 januari 2018 07:39

Lye, speaking of permissions, you were probably (half-)joking anyway, but did you see our suggestion a while back about that we can probably offer to help with tagging issues on the repo? Most likely just tagging by endpoint or something, but at least it makes it easier to navigate.

Also, this reminds me of another thing ANet did a while back on the forums, where certain community members were representatives (or something) of various parts of the forum, helped others out and filter things for developers iirc. Maybe something like that can work in some way for the API too? The API part on the forums isn't that highly active, but it might help if the responsibility is shifted towards various development teams.

/v2/vendors [l,d] was added to /v2/ back in may 2017

Yet it's still not a thing /v2/vendors [l,d] (at least not by https://api.guildwars2.com/v2 )
Oh, to slow.. xD

discussion started way earlier than that
I think it was on the old forum when cliff did the api that the first vendor discussions started

yeah, i meant more as in, discussed as potentially going live and being enabled
in 2015 lye said vendor api is technically not possible :D https://gw2developers.github.io/forum-backup/List-of-items-bought-from-Vendors/

sometimes i wonder if you're google itself
This is something I’ve looked into previously, and it’s unfortunately not technically feasible to expose via the API. The problem basically boils down to two big issues:
  • It’s not possible to determine which vendors are player-accessible. There are some test vendors that you’ll never see which sell things for fairly cheap prices, and no good way to tell them apart from player-accessible vendors.
  • Vendor prices are per-vendor, not per-item: different vendors may have different prices for the same item. An example of this are the Dry Top vendors, whose wares are sold for a conditional amount.

lye said its already implemented iirc, just not sure how it handles vendors with rotations
Medyro
@Medyro
Jan 27 2018 15:59 UTC
Well as long as the d in /v2/vendors [l,d] is a thing, i guess we can only guess :/
An if it would already be implemented wy then should it still be disabled?
darthmaim
@darthmaim

I can't find the discussion atm, but I think lye still had to figure out the whitelisting
possibly restricting it to heart vendors + a few select ones
Medyro
@Medyro
Jan 27 2018 16:02 UTC
Oh i see.
I don't really need it anyway personally.
darthmaim
@darthmaim
Jan 27 2018 16:03 UTC
but it only shows up in /v2 if something is deployed, so something has to be implemented (might just be throw new Exception('not implemented') though)
Medyro
@Medyro
Jan 27 2018 16:04 UTC
Hm.. guess that might only be to indicate that it will be a thing at some point in the Future then
darthmaim
@darthmaim
Jan 27 2018 16:04 UTC
it also has the needs deploy tag on github, which usually means the implementation is done
Medyro
@Medyro
Jan 27 2018 16:07 UTC
Excpet that it still might not be fully done because of the whitelisting thing you mentioned, i guess?

Otherwise i agree, he definitely needs People; or well.. we do, i guess
