A small squirrel in a trench coat informed me that #595 is fixed internally. Should go out in an upcoming (full) release; apparently the game was missing some data for the linkage. Engineer had a similar issue but I didn't see any reports on GH. That is all, carry on, I was never here, etc. :-D

Also just to set expectations - we are working on a pipeline for GH issues that seeks to blend timely transparency with a dose of the unfortunate reality that it may take some time for stuff to get addressed, especially early on
You may see some tags appearing as a result

also, now that i have you here, you mentioned something along the lines of having biweekly meetings or something right? did those already happen? my reason for asking is that i want to know if i need to contact chris again or not, i've been waiting for, i think, 2.5 weeks now for a response on something i've been working on
i thought i would wait after the meetings to see if that's the reason why the reply is stalled

We have consolidated to one extra large meeting every week, but yes, that is ongoing
just FYI etc.

now back to see what changed on the repo (gitter why no longer history)

I guess you mean Chris Cleary - not sure why he would be involved in your project. What are you building?
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Mar 08 2018 13:55
he "vets" apps that hook into the memory of GW2

@windwarrior Saw the AMA mention - thanks!

ah, i've dropped some hints here so now and then; basically i was sick of having to chainload addons in the game, so i started making an addon that handles all that stuff
and since he is more involved with projects like arcdps etc i thought i would ask him first before even putting a release online
e.g. like this is how it looks like right now: https://files.gitter.im/Archomeda/zf8e/image.png
i think you'll get what i mean with it as well with this screenshot

Gotcha. The web API effort is really not related to addons

API work we support. Addons you are 100% on your own :-)

@windwarrior
Mar 08 2018 13:59
yeah, but Chris Cleary has been manually vetting some of them, such as ArcDPS, the build template addon of that, I think a mount selection thingie, TacO even though it doesnt hook into memory
he suggests sending him a message when you want to do something like that

hey, at least the font is better @windwarrior, thanks to @BoyC for helping me with the bitmaps
Mike Lewis
@apoch
Mar 08 2018 14:00
And that's fine but it is entirely his unofficial contribution and not something the engineering team dedicates resources to

okay ^^, I am just giving you my player perspective right

Also btw the meeting is recurring indefinitely so... ;-)
Yes, he has had a lot to do. Things are busy right now!

well, "a lot" isn't always good haha
depending on how you handle it
anyhow, i like the new tags @apoch ;)

I find it fascinating how much anet can turn off without patches
like LFG today
it even shows a nice little padlock

windwarrior
@windwarrior
Mar 08 2018 16:31
I'd imagine that a vendors inventory is serverside anyway
so the "call" so to say to retrieve it can fail showing you that it has been disabled
or... thats how I would implement that haha
but LFG seems to have specifically been engineered to have a disabled state
Archomeda
@Archomeda
Mar 08 2018 16:35
i think we've had a discussion with lye about stuff being able to be disabled before
pretty sure the conclusion was, many things can be disabled if they wanted to
windwarrior
@windwarrior
Mar 08 2018 16:36
yeah but its cool that that works this way ^^
from an engineering standpoint
