lye
@lye
happen to have that achievement id?
hmm, ember bay in content says it should be in Heart of Maguuma
JC123
@JC123
thats what im sayin lol
but api says rof
lye
@lye
yeah
lemme see where the heck that's coming from
lye
@lye
I've literally no clue
Maybe the branch I'm working on has different data
What I'm looking at, each map has a field for a region
Ember Bay = Jungle
Draconis Mon = Lava
HOWEVER there is a separate "region" that's generated from some other data; those generated regions have lists of maps that are contained within them
the generated data is what's used by all the mapping subsystems (and the API) and lists Ember Bay in the Lava region
the gameplay subsystems use the region field in the map data
something something third normal form
JC123
@JC123
yeah i figured a lot of that out the hard way by looking at the files, which is what i meant by game content
lye
@lye
I passed on the complaint
There's probably some reason it's done that way
I ... could expose both regions I guess?
"this is the region it's in for map purposes", "this is the region it's in for gameplay purposes"
JC123
@JC123
possibly yeah, its just somewhat confusing why the jungle daily works in one of them and not the other
so that could clear it up
lye
@lye
I'm so confused
regions-what.png
JC123
@JC123
so theres some special reason the map def is 10? #alsoconfused
lye
@lye
I've literally no idea
the API output is not matching what's in content
like content is all screwy as well
but the API backend server should be serializing out that "Region = Jungle" bit in the top
and it's not
and I've no clue as to why
I'm punting on this
the answer is probably something totally insane and uncomprehensible
JC123
@JC123
:joy:
Archomeda
@Archomeda
well, isn't it the same with sparkfly fen and mount maelstrom with them being maguuma jungle ingame, while steamspur mountains on api?
lye
@lye
probably
windwarrior
@windwarrior
so casting a phantasm with legy armor makes your frames stutter
q.q
lye
@lye
opening the chat options makes your frames stutter
ChieftainAlex
@ChieftainAlex
Is it intentional that the removed map, Labyrinthine Cliffs, has a bunch of associated events in v1/event_details, but no information for it can be found within v1/maps?
lye
@lye
not a clue :<
the map was probably deleted but not the associated content
lye
@lye
re: regions
i must have done something wrong because i'm getting different data back now
at some point in the future, ember bay may move into jungle (??) and then move back to lava (???)
ChieftainAlex
@ChieftainAlex
Does the z-index for position in tyria increase as you fall towards sea level?
lye
@lye
I thought z was up
I'm not sure how the axis is oriented
ChieftainAlex

I still think an events api arranged like the output of map_event_details would be nice.
lye
@lye
yeah :<
