@apoch
Tbh I use GH mostly for stuff I completely control so I have no idea how good the delegation tools are
Archomeda
@Archomeda
hrmm
you mean the possibility regarding the the github tools, or the fact that the repo is representing anet?
regarding the first, there's the collaborators section in the repo settings, at least for personal repos, not sure how it is in organization repos
Medyro
@Medyro
Because of #83 (on the "Possibly outdated issues" list above) btw. I think it might certainly be usefull at one Point. I tought about it as maybe a way to be able to tell People witch permissions they'd need to see (more) things on e.g. certain Pages of Applications. Only thing is that it might be do better under v2.json.
Medyro
@Medyro
I think it would be great to have a way to programatically tell witch endpoints require witch permisions either way.
Archomeda
@Archomeda
i guess github has the tools for it then; it's just a matter of if anet wants outside people to be collaborators in the api repo
Mike Lewis
@apoch
Oh cool, thanks for that link
I will do some research
Archomeda
@Archomeda
@CuriousCharr yeah, i think it's better in the json file; when i created that issue, i was unaware that the json file existed

@queicherius
@apoch Oh another thing that I constantly get mails about is the TP transactions not working for people
Werdes
@werdes
Crawling vendors from the wiki could be a nice sunday task :ok_hand:
anybody happen to need it?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
urgh, i don't want to deal with mediawiki api ever again
instead, i'm now creating/merging bitmap fonts... which is also tedious :/
David Reeß
@queicherius
@werdes I'd use both MF recipes and vendors (if it outputs in JSON or something)
I'm playing with the ELK stack, since my current logging approach is weird at best and completely broken at worst
Werdes
@werdes
so from wiki i got 1066 vendors
and processing the {{inventory}} template is even more of a chore than the regular category thingy
Silveress
@Silveress
Elk?
David Reeß
@queicherius
@Silveress Elasticsearch / Logstash / Kibana / Beats
Medyro
@Medyro

"ELK" is the acronym for three open source projects: Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana. Elasticsearch is a search and analytics engine. Logstash is a server‑side data processing pipeline that ingests data from multiple sources simultaneously, transforms it, and then sends it to a "stash" like Elasticsearch. Kibana lets users visualize data with charts and graphs in Elasticsearch.

Src

I think it might also got renamed to Elastic Stack, at least going by that Site, altough i'm not sure.

it's not adapted to anything from the api, just raw parsed from the wiki
David Reeß
@queicherius
@werdes That's super cool! :D
Lol Grandmaster Craftsman Hobbs up in there selling 277 items
Werdes

David Reeß
@queicherius
How long does that take to generate?
Werdes
@werdes
~5 minutes
page crawling is about 1 minute, 3-4 minutes regex wizardry
David Reeß
@queicherius
:clap: Good stuff

@TheMrMilchmann
Hey, I've started messing with the API this weekend and I'm looking for uptodate documentation about the rate limit. I've read the old forum threads but I'm wondering if they are still uptodate. My current impression is, that the limit is 600 calls per IP per minute (regardless of the called endpoint). Is this assumption correct?
David Reeß
@queicherius
@TheMrMilchmann Yes, that is correct. If you require more you can get added to a whitelist
Leon Linhart
@TheMrMilchmann
@queicherius Thanks, 600 calls per minute should be more than sufficient for testing purposes. I suppose whitelisting is only possible for servers with static ips anyways and managing a server is something I've consequently been avoiding because of the legal mess.

Have I missed something, or should all profession specific skills not have a profession key-value set? e.g. https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/skills?ids=5777 looks like it should have professions: [ "Elementalist" ],
I was going to skip skills without professions specified for my patchnotes api thing but looks like there's some bad data in there
actually maybe that's a trait skill or something, theres a similar one, https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/skills?ids=5639 with everything specified
JC123
@JC123
see trait 282
ChieftainAlex
@ChieftainAlex
+1 yeah that became obvious when I checked the related traits page on the wiki
Werdes
@werdes
apparently renown heart NPCs aren't categorized as vendors in the wiki. Arrgh :(
ptolstoi
@ptolstoi
Werdes
@werdes
thanks, apparently renown heart NPC is a subcategory of Vendor

@ChieftainAlex
without a doubt, the ugliest code anyone will ever write to scourge the API with skill facts.. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Chieftain_Alex/sandbox4?action=raw&ctype=text/javascript
ChieftainAlex
@ChieftainAlex
I've found some traits without descriptions, e.g. https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/traits?ids=2182 . It seems odd given there's a description ingame.
JC123
@JC123
the description comes from the skilldef not trait in that case and I guess the api doesnt go that far to find it
ChieftainAlex
@ChieftainAlex
First patch to compare skills+traits between patches..
