Teamspeak auto-verify through API
by ClaraFee.2579 in API Development

Hi friends! I recently played on a WvW Teamspeak that has an auto-verify feature that works with the GW2 API. This was Fort Aspenwood specifically, but I know Blackgate has something similar too.

I want to add this to the Teamspeak server that I run. Do any of you have any links to this resource and/or instructions on how to do it? Thanks for your time.

Hmm, has anyone figured out the possible enum values for the state property in /v2/guild/:id/teams? 🤔
seems they aren't documented, but so far I've seen "Active"

[Suggestion] Ability to capture an event when an API key is deleted.
by peekaay.3471 in API Development

Basically an event or via a web hook, to subscribe to a API key delete. (or more kinds of event, if any)

Is this a possible feature?

Archomeda
@Archomeda
^ what lol
Ryan Mast
@nightlark
I guess they want a notification when an API key becomes invalid
if you attempt to access an API with an invalid key, does the error message tell you the key doesn't exist?
Archomeda
@Archomeda
if you request an authenticated endpoint, yes
it returns { "text": "invalid key" } or something along those lines
and it uses a HTTP 403 response
so i don't know why you would want a webhook for this
just handle the error properly
Ryan Mast
@nightlark
I guess they want to get sent a notification instead of polling

@vennekilde
Just as a general comment about what you should do, once you receive an "invalid key" error. I recommend not deleting it, but have it time out after a while. I remember previous api issues, that caused valid keys to return invalid key
But i agree, i don't really see the real need for a push notification when a key is invalid
Ryan Mast
@nightlark
It is a pretty boring notification. Notifications for events like character creation, level up, guild creation, member joining would be more interesting.

So that_shaman has successfully generated a replacement set of API compatible map tiles and is struggling to find somewhere good to host them
how about getting Anet to host his tiles on their api tile server ;<
ChieftainAlex
@ChieftainAlex
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Widget:World_map_test + I've got a small scale working test version for the gw2 tiles on the wiki - same method as I did for gw1 way back
Silver Golden
@Silveress_Golden_gitlab
@ChieftainAlex how intensive is it to host them? Are they images or whatnot?
Silver Golden
@Silveress_Golden_gitlab
(would still be best if Anet hosted them but I aught to be able to provide the plan C option)

@codemasher
@Silveress_Golden_gitlab just to give you an idea: the 8 zoom levels for the gw1 tyria map (png) are ~600MB https://smiley.codes/maps/for/gw1/
small maps, like the battle isles or the pre-searing are like 30MB each
that_shaman
@thatshaman
They're rather large, PNG version is 2.88GB and JPG at high quality is 326.8 MB. Anyway, if you want to give these tiles a try consider this a pre-release: https://thatshaman.com/files/maps/beta.php
Do whatever you see fit with these files
Silver Golden
@Silveress_Golden_gitlab
2.88gb in total?
or each?
Silver Golden
@Silveress_Golden_gitlab
because if its just 3.1gb between png and jpg then I aught to be host it easially enough
and as regards traffic as long as its 19tb or less per month it aught to be fine

GoogleSheets Script - WvW Pip Reward Track
by Butters.2807 in API Development

Hi guys, first time poster on here. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about google sheets script?
I currently have a WvW Skirmish Ticket helper spreadsheet.

We don't have API endpoints for pulling pip progress so I currently enter the following into a spreadsheet:

  • Pip Chest Type (eg wood, bronze etc), selected from a drop down
  • Tier
  • Current Pips earned
  • Average pips per tick
  • Amount of Skirmish Tickets (currently I use the API to pull this directly so theres no need to enter)

Is there any way to get Healing scaling on skills via the API? I only see raw healing in the returned json, but I feel like I must be missing something.

Translating Mumble coordinates to API:2/maps coordinates
by Grax.9204 in API Development

Hello there

I am struggling to translate the coordinates provided by the mumble file into ones that match the coordinate system used by the API:2/maps.
More precisely, I am working with the coordinates from TacO files which are based on the mumble coordinates.

The mumble coordinates seem to be relative to the current map while the maps API provides coordinates for an entire continent.
So what I tried is to add a maps continent_rect NW x and y values to the map relative coordinates from mumble.
The resulting coordinates are offset though. It appears that the map relative coordinates are not based on the maps NW corner but some seemingly random spot somewhere in the maps middle.

So I tried to calculate the maps center point using the API:2/maps coordinate_rect information.

ChieftainAlex
@ChieftainAlex
Anyone know what v2/characters is sorted by if you request everything via "ids=all" ?
wondered if there was some logic behind it or if its random
Archomeda
@Archomeda
probably the same order as character select
ChieftainAlex
@ChieftainAlex
sounds possible
which is basically last-logged-in character i guess
thanks
ChieftainAlex
@ChieftainAlex
Other thing i noticed was missing when putting together https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Template:Account_appearance_summary_widget was that there's no mount dyes / outfit choices / outfit dyes / glider choices / glider dyes for the characters endpoints.
guess it's just forgotten
